if APC is smart and there is a single senator from the eastern part of nigeria to be in the chamber in the incoming session, he should become the senate president. this way, the people from the eastern part of nigeria will see the inclusiveness of their constituency and that in itself a shoe in for 2nd term win of APC.

the political strategy is to bring everyone in on board by persuasion. the only group to be persuaded are the majority of the eastern block and others should not be over compensated until you at least let the easterners realize that you are for them by enough gestures of goodwill. the senate president is definitely a good start.

but there is no APC senator from the east, then APC should make sure that PDP does not smell anything except minority leadership which is what they are entitled to anyhow since they are the minority in both chambers.


eastern block can be made ministers in more block numbers than any regional block to encourage them for the future and show that there is always an olive tree branch in hand waiting for their friendship.
