Jonathan lost because he was weak. Patience wouldn't even lose an election against Buhari if she was president. GEJ messed up big time. He wanted to give free and fair elections to Nigerians and this is where it landed him. 30 Likes 5 Shares |

Gej allies accuse people of conspiracy and his wife but they don't talk about the currupt government he lead. These shows both him and everyone in his government see stealing is not corruption. 61 Likes |

just hear this man..... He is wishing APC failure in the center. Buhari will never ever fail Nigerians. Amen And at the first lady being the architect of her hubby's re-election lost, that's entirely pdp's cup of tea.. when the woman was running her mouth like tap water, pdp sycophantic cheered her up until she did a heavy damage to her husband's re-election bid Buhari's wife (aisha) will be doing kule in aso rock, no going out to frivolous parties, no talking trash from her and other misdemeanours that will create negative news in Buhari's government. Buhari virtually won't have any problem from his wife because a 1st lady office won't be given to her. 64 Likes 1 Share |

Now this is hilarious, pride truly comes before a fall. Patience's outbursts were a manifestation of her lack of class/finesse, low quality education and an inherent disposition to be crude and violent in the face of conflict. Gladly these traits are all absent in the incoming first lady so that's one less thing to worry about for the APC. Regardless, it's a huge joke to imply that PEJ's outbursts solely caused the ruling party's failure at the polls. The party's permissive attitude to corruption and impunity, continuous failure to deliver, wanton rape of all our revered institutions, imposition and several injustices within the party, and probably most significantly the celebrated incompetence of Jonathan are larger pieces in the puzzle of PDP's lashing at the polls. 38 Likes

I almost stopped reading the article after this statement. "On the international level, the passage of the anti-gay legislation led to criticisms and face-off with the US, and the West." What is this Osom Makbere smoking? Does he think the west believe Buhari will be less inclined to pass the anti-gay bill or work to repeal it? This statement took the cake. "The migration to Russia for arms and ammunition to quelling the insurgency also signalled to the West that Jonathan had started constituting a self-reliant and dependent nation-state, a feat seen too tall by the US and their allies in the West." These people cannot even get chronology of events straight. For your information Osom Makbere US stopped the sales of ammunition before Jonathan looked east. When people like you are in position of authority in any organization, the bottom is very close. No wonder the election was lost. People like you that cannot do simple deductive reasoning or analysis are part of the reason. The problem of PDP is multifaceted. madam peace is just one reason, the monstrous corruption is the major reason. Fani kayode also played a good role in the defeat of PDP. He attacked Buhari so much that people began to develop interest in the Buhari's candidacy. Another person whose frequent attacks on Buhari in Daily Vanguard was a blessing to the APC, is femi aribisala, Fayose etc. All of these are culpable including non performance. The West had no hand in Jonathan's fall. So scratch off those from your list. As for Patience Jonathan she bears 10% of the blame. The other 90% why Jonathan failed are as follows: Boko Haram mess (Chibok girls, 10,000 Nigerians killed) - 20% , Condoning corruption - 20% , Pardoning corrupt persons - 5% , Allowing massive decamping of PDP members - 10% , Negative campaigning against Buhari - 10% , Camapaigning along Ethnic and Religious line - 10% , Performance in Office (He actually did well, but couldnt sell himself) - 5% , Image (as a weakling, clueless and non-chalant) - 10 116 Likes 18 Shares |

I thought they were egging her on before; this is why sycophancy is not good. What cowards, they couldn't tell her and the husband the truth before, it is now that they lost thay they are lamenting. By the way this is not all on Patience, PDP and Jonathan collectively FAILED Nigerians. In reality Patience was just the salt on the injury. 9 Likes |

The hypocrisy Nigerians exude is utterly disgusting. If Jonathan's government was corrupt and under performing, then why did he get majority of the votes from south south and south and south east? Weren't they feeling the corruption and poor performance? Or is there something else that persuaded them to vote for GEJ? 1 Like |
Re: Patience Jonathan’s Attitude Cost Us Defeat — PDP Chief by SkyBlue1: 8:56am On Apr 26, 2015 |
Sweetguy25: Yes. Industrial scale vote rigging and voter intimidation based on the myopic tribal reasoning that "he is our son and it is our oyel", you will not rewrite history so soon. Why was Jonathan going on an apology tour during his campaign of the Niger Delta region? Even Donald Duke challenged him on his underperformace in the region at one of these tours. Asari lamented that he had not done well earlier in the year (but kept supporting him because of his 'anywhere belle face' mentality), MEND even supported Buhari against Jonathan. So what are you talking about? Some of the South East may have legitimately given him the full vote but that is their business. There are different reasons the outcome of this election was not challenged by PDP, they knew they lost regardless of all the rigging and voter intimidation and fraud and knew they had no moral authority to legitimately challenge it. 35 Likes 1 Share |

noordean: LOL, the reasoning of some people will shock you. This is why I say PDP will never learn the lesson of the election, they are too shallow of mind and unpatriotic. That is why you have some of his supporters proposing him for Nobel prize and President of the year and such rubbish, ,for simply accepting that he lost the mandate of the people despite all the rigging and fraud of his party. When people call Nigerians stupid now they will be the first to take offence. 27 Likes |

SkyBlue1: Are you trying to say that votes Buhari received were due to patriotic reasons or from patriotic Nigerians? Are you also trying to say that there were no irregularities in voting processes in areas where Buhari won massively? Are you also telling me that if GEJ(as an incumbent) wanted to massively rig the elections to his favour, it wouldn't have been possible? 3 Likes |

Re: Patience Jonathan’s Attitude Cost Us Defeat — PDP Chief by SkyBlue1: 9:26am On Apr 26, 2015 |
Sweetguy25: People make choices for different reasons but a good swathe of the support Buhari received were from people who were not happy with the way the country was run, the election was a referendum on Jonathan and PDP. On the other hand you have people like Asari and co who agreed the country was not being run well, but still chose to continue supporting the status quo regardless. I know who I would see as patriotic among the two groups. Would not be too surprised if there were some irregularities in states Buhari won, but it was in the Niger Delta that you had the violence and deaths, and that says a lot. With regards to your last point, I think if you feel we have to thank Jonathan for not using the full power of the state to rig his way into power (which he did try), then you are simply making the case for why we should all be relieved that PDP and Jonathan lost, and yes that position is unpatriotic. "Thank you PDP for not taking much more lives than you could have taken or using the fuller extent of the state to rig your way into power against the overwhelming will of the people for change, you deserve a Nobel Peace Prize for that". Some people are unbelievable. 39 Likes 1 Share |

SkyBlue1:Hypocrisy again. There were also a multitude of Nigerians who believed that GEJ was good president. It is blatant hypocrisy to attribute that the votes Buhari received were due to the non performance of GEJ or patriotism from voters and attribute the votes GEJ received to be from tribal sentiments or voters. On the other hand you have people like Asari and co who agreed the country was not being run well, but still chose to continue supporting the status quo regardless. I know who I would see as patriotic among the two groups. Would not be too surprised if there were some irregularities in states Buhari won, but it was in the Niger Delta that you had the violence and deaths, and that says a lot.Asari had his opinion, many other Nigerians believed GEJ was a good president and wanted him to continue. Who is more patriotic between someone who says that the president is not performing but should remain as president (because he's his kinsman) and someone who says the president should leave whether he was performing or not (because he want to his kinsman)? It is also hypocrisy on your to not acknowledge the high incidences of under aged voting and other irregularities in the north. With regards to your last point, I think if you feel we have to thank Jonathan for not using the full power of the state to rig his way into power (which he did try), then you are simply making the case for why we should all be relieved that PDP and Jonathan lost, and yes that position is unpatriotic. Hypocrisy again. Since the election ended, opposition party members have failed to acknowledge the patriotic and selfless efforts of the president towards ensuring that our nascent democracy is protected and nurtured. This has been his position ever since he ascended the seat and he has kept his stance. You and your other APC goons are hypocrites. That's all. 4 Likes |
