A deep look into 1 Corinthians 13:1-7
1 Though I speak with the tongues
of men and of angels, but have not
love, I have become sounding brass or
a clanging cymbal. 2. And though I
have the gift of prophecy, and
understand all mysteries and all
knowledge, and though I have all faith,
so that I could remove mountains, but
have not love, I am nothing. And
though I bestow all my goods to feed
the poor,3. and though I give my body to
be burned, but have not love, it
profits me nothing. ( 1 Corinthians 13:1-3)
Apostle Paul declared how important love
is,he made it clear in the above verses that
spiritual gifts without love is like a clanging
cymbal which edifices none.
Many Christians exhibit a lot of spiritual gifts
but they do not show love to other people,
below are the characteristics of Godly love
according to 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.
1.Love suffers long ( love endures suffering)
2 love is kind
3.love does not envy.
4.Love does not parade itself ( love does not
seek for men's praise, it believes that God
only deserves all praises and glory)
5. Love is not puffed up. ( love is humble,
every Christian with Godly love must be
humble)
6. Love does not behave rudely. ( anybody
full of love does not behave in a way that is
out of the Christian doctrine )
7. Love does not seek its own. ( Anybody full
of love is not self-centered)
8. Love is not provoked ( Christians with
Godly love are not provoked easily, no matter
how you tried to provoke them; they will still
show you immense love)
9. Love thinks no evil ( people with Godly
love do not have any evil plan behind
anything they do, They do all things with
broad mind)
10. Love does not rejoice in iniquity, but
rejoice in truth. ( Christians with Godly love
do not rejoice in sins but they instead ask for
forgiveness and live in the truth of God's
words)
11.Love bears all things ( love bears every
situation)
12. Love believes all things.( love believes
every good things about others)
13. Love hopes all things ( hope is believing
that the future is bright even when the
present is blur, so love does not give up)
14. Love endures all things ( whether good or
bad situation; love will endure.
Godly love is what you need in your Christian
walk and also in your relationship with others,
check your life today and see if you exhibit all
these characteristics.
Prayer:Mighty God please impart your love
into my life today and help me to love the
way you want me to love.
Give your life to Jesus today: pray to him and
he will answer you.
