These guys already knew the laws of the land they were dealing on... Yet they took their chances and got caught.

Now Y is everyone mad @ Indonesia for standing their ground and keeping their laws against drugs.

Kudos to Indonesia for standing their ground and not succumbing to international pressure.

Warning : Don't deal drugs in Indonesia if you don't want to get shot in the chest.

Well said, people need to see the destructive effects drugs have on families, the law to execute drug smugglers were created for a reason, if you can't respect it then don't export drugs into these countries.

you are in denial my friend if you think that our Nigerian government gives a damn. Nigerian missions overseas and the government in general are the worst. They can go to the point of denying their very citizens once you get into problems on foreign soil.
I have been following this case for days and the Australian PM and FM did a lot to stop the execution but to no avail, however our Naija gov is a failure and didnt do squat or even make attempts to halt the execution

Partiality at its peak....so after how many years someone now turns himself in to save the Filipino while the rest were executed, I believe the Philippine govt got someone and payed him a huge sum so as to save the woman

Sure! Though haven gone through her case, I give her the benefit of doubt that she isn't guilty. But this last minute miracle is strange, the person who turned himself in would be tried by the Australian gov't with less stringent narcotic laws, the woman would gain her freedom in Indonesia and later on, the Australian gov't would Secretly release the so called person that framed the lady. They just played a fast one. I'm happy for the lady though.

If you must commit crime, stay in Nigeria, where justice can be bought, where you can make the justice system an offer that cannot be refused. And at worst, where you can serve a jail term instead of death penalty.

I do not believe humanity has civilized beyond a point of understanding that these drug war can be won by other alternatives than killing the culprits. But we must live with an understanding that humans are the worst enemies of their species.

What kind of stringent laws is that? Why can de put such laws in corruption related cases if their country will nt be one of the richest in d world, to me o dat law is gross deciet and wickedness.
the chairman committee on diaspora said she went with some members to visit the inmate in 2004 and every miles they walk, they read on the wall ''drug offence is death'' and Indonesian Government claims, their youth die everyday due to heroine...... so, why blame their Government?

You are right,am presently listening to the Australian Prime Minister,Mr.Tony Abbot expressing his displeasure over the execution and the pain and sadness inflicted on all Australians,he went further to request the presence of the Australian ambassador to Indonesia for them to make adequate preparations for their burial...I just tire for Naija please who is the Nigerian Ambassador to Indonesia? What effort did he make to plead for clemency for these Nigerians?

Who is facing execution?

Three Nigerians not four. The other is from Ghana according to BBC

Australians: Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan
Filipina: [/b ] Mary Jane Fiesta Veloso
[b]Frenchman:
Serge Areski Atlaoui
Ghanaian: Martin Anderson
Indonesian: Zainal Abidin bin Mgs Mahmud Badarudin
Nigerians: Raheem Agbaje Salami, Sylvester Obiekwe Nwolise, Okwudili Oyatanze
Brazilian: Rodrigo Gularte

RIP

Brazil and Australia are considering severing ties with Indonesia. Nigeria should do the same. I don't see why Nigeria hasn't pursued a sterner line with that Nation. What's their use to Nigeria that we should be so apologetic and softly threading with them.

If Indonesia is going to be so ridiculous about this drugs issue why don't they try executing their drug users too. Drug pushers respond to a market.

Individual that buy stolen goods are in many instance viewed in law as equally culpable as the thieves. Likewise patronizers of illegal pornography are seen as culpable for they are viewed as providing market. This dichotomy should be extended to illegal drugs. And in many instances this is the case, one would have thought that Indonesia, a land majority adherents of the Islamic fate, a fate often ruthless, would pioneer the execution of drug abusers for they provide the market. There's something cynical if not hypocritical with executing drug sellers for the addiction of others. It feels a little like laying your faults at the feet of others. Ultimately, imprisonment should be the punishment not executions.

Indonesia is plagued by an epidemic of drug abuse. The media is full of terrifying accounts of destruction and violence, young lives cut short, the breakdown of traditional values, children robbing parents, and 11-year-olds lured into addiction and prostitution. “A single use can result in addiction,” “Women prostitute themselves to support their habits,” and “25 percent of drug users will die” are some of the scare tactics seen in the media and on street banners. Such fictions create and maintain irrational fears. While there is no doubt that drugs have tragically ruined many lives, Indonesia needs to take a more rational look at history, culture, and the failure of current policies to formulate an approach based on knowledge—not hysteria.
