Chukwuemeka Ojukwu is trully a legend and a mentor because he fought for a cause. Ojukwu fought against the injustice he perceived were being done to his people by declaring Biafr-- a feat he thought would give a leverage over Igbo's oppression in Nigeria. He practically want to give the best he could to halt the 'hatred' against the Igbos. He felt that, that would alleviate his people's suffering in the hands of Nigeria and Nigerians(Yoruba's and Hausa's--as they want us to believe), who have marginalized them both in the Civilian and Military Service. He has a vision and a mission for his people just that his vision were costly at the end of the day. He lost over a million of his people to the agitation in his vision to reduced the partiality and contempt showered on his tribe.


On the other hand Chief Awolowo, has a more robust vision for the Yoruba race. His vision for an economically-sound SW made him build social infrastructures, gives free education and build Cocoa House in Oyo state with money generated from Cocoa. Infact, some of the roads and bridges constructed with COCOA MONEY during his days are today still standing and better off than those of today(with some exceptions) in term of Quality, Durability and Standard. He was passionate about the Progress of Nigeria and he support the ONENESS of Nigeria-- reason why he stop the transporting of foodstuff to the Biafran's side that resulted in starvation.
Though the declaration of NO VICTOR, NO VANQUISHED by GOWON whose name had been termed (Go On With One Nigeria.)save the day or else the agitation by the Igbos (of today) for Biafra would have been higher than presently experienced.

Chief Obafemi Awolowo was referred to as THE BEST PRESIDENT NIGERIA "NEVER" HAD by the Late Chukwuemeka Ojukwu.
Both are LEGENDS who against all odds fought and worked to better the lives and living of their peoples.


While Awolowo's vision MAKES the Yoruba's, Ojukwu's vision MARS the Igbo's.

I don't really see Ojukwu as a coward. He is just a greedy man who bit more than he can chew and in doing so sentenced millions of his people to their death. One thing that worries me is that, he couldn't die with them. Unlike Hitler, he choose the easier option.
