My project manager told us a story once. He went for a job interview and he was asked stupid questions like "who's the minister of education " and all dat. He simple told dem he didn't come to be asked such question, he told dem to ask him engineering questions or he walks away, he told dem he's a professional and dat he's dere to work. Infact he was about walking awayand dere boss sent for him and interviewed him personally. If u know ur worth and capabilities den u won't be scared to offer handshake. Its just that most graduates we have today are not employable or even trainable despite carrying certificates. So they see job offers as help. I cry for nigeria

If your project manager had collected transport fair from his mother prior to the interview he would have even recite national anthem and history of Nigeria politics if asked.

Bland!!! Abeg dat "offering of handshake" is not advisable. Some will consider it rude...imagine Dangote or Adenuga interviewing U̶̲̥̅̊...who be your p*p* to dey offer your dirty palm. Abeg your own done set be dat O°˚˚˚ !!!

In Yoruba culture for instance, a younger person does not offer to shake an elder's hand. The senior guy will offer first, else u may be accused of lacking in good manners!

I am a complete African man. To me hand shaking, it depends on the personality involved. I see extending a hand shake to an elderly person as an insult and an act of indiscipline. Unless he extends his hands, i won't. but to my mate, no problem. I don't know whether I'm on point.

My broda, u must not lick an interviewer's butt because u need a job, if u know ur worth, it's dem dat will beg u for the job. The problem we have is dat dere are so many graduates out dere who don't know anything about their field of study e.g a computer science graduate who doesn't know things about computer or a electrical engineer who doesn't even know how to use a tester talk more of analyzing circuits. Such graduates will take job offer as help, but if u know ur onions my broda dey will beg u to take d job. I will just advise graduates out dere to get trained in whatever field dey studied in skool, go for certifications, just try and be doing something, don't just sit at home and be praying for miracle.
