LAST MINUTES APPOINTMENTS: THIS MISCHIEF MUST BE REVERSED. The world over hailed President Jonathan when he conceded defeat to the President-elect General Muhammadu Buhari even before he was declared the winner of this year's March 28 presidential election. This singular act made President Jonathan a hero, this is because that call of congratulating the President-elect was what Nigeria needed to avert unquantified political crisis that may have emerge and it did. So everybody hailed and described the President's action as very commendable and a show of statesmanship. After that event everybody believe that the handover will be smooth and harmonious. But alas, the events that are manifesting are showing that all is not well. It is like some people want by all means to reverse that heroic act of Mr Jonathan to something different. At the moment the President and his enemies are busy sacking their perceived betrayals and appointing people who are believed to be card carrying members of the PDP and we are talking of less than 30 days to the handover date. One cannot understand the rational or logic behind this action. The only reason they give is "Mr Jonathan is still the President" as if someone is doubting that. We are all not in anyway doubting this, but to be making appointments at the time the President is supposed to be preparing his handover notes is to say the least mischievous. Let us review these last minutes appointments; 1. The sacking and appointment of the IG of police(without reason) 2. The appointment of Mr Peter Obi, a PDP member as the board chairman of Securities and Exchange commission. Last Monday. 3. The sacking and appointment of the ES/CEO of NHIS(without reason) 4. The sacking and appointment of the MD of Nigeria Ports Authority. 5. The appointment of the Chancellors of the 38 Nigeria Universities. 6. The appointment of 61 mostly PDP members as the board members of the 12 universities that were established by this government since at inception. 7. The appointment of 24 mostly PDP members as board members of 4 Federal polytechnics. And many more. When you look at these appointments and analyse some of them you will see the mischief I am talking about. Let's take no. 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7. For no. 4 and 5 for example the eldest son of the late emir of Kano late HRH Alhaji Ado Bayero, Sunusi Lamido Ado Bayero was appointed as the MD of the Nigeria Ports Authority. Do you see the mischief? We are not talking whether he merited the appointment or otherwise, No! What we are saying is if you can remember when the late emir died, before a new one was announced the PDP through Olisa Metu came out to congratulate Sunusi Lamido Ado Bayero as the new emir of Kano then, an action that nearly set Kano on fire. Since then Lamido Ado left Kano and it is obvious he is yet to recognize the current emir as his emir. Now the PDP government at its last hour gave him an appointment that ; 1. He didn't deserve and 2. It will obviously be reverse when the new government comes in. Their point is they know this appointment will be reverse by GMB and they want to possibly reap from the chaos they anticipate from that reversal. Too bad for an opposition party. For the appointment no. 5, in all the 38 universities our royal Highnesses were appointed as Chancellors of those universities. Imaging what will happen if this is reversed!. For the appointments no 2, 6 and 7, Peter Obi is a card carrying member of the PDP and he is given an appointment at the last hour, how do one put that? For the appointment no. 6 and 7, I don't really understand the eagerness of the current minister of education to inaugurate the boards that were supposed to be there for the last 3 years? I cannot understand how a man who could not win even a councillor seat for his party in his state despite the fact that he was a governor for 8 years in that state, could be listen to by the President to cause confusion in a government that he desperately worked against? All these last minutes appointments are made in bad faith and to cause confusion to the incoming government of GMB, but unfortunately may be they forgot how hard and devilish they worked against his emergence but Almighty Allah made it to be and he is now our President-elect which we all believe will not be confused and will not loose focus in leading our dear country to greatness again. Buhari will always be the man he is and these mischief makers will be shamed. THESE APPOINTMENTS MUST BE REVERSED. THEY ARE ALL NULL AND VOID BY MAY 29, 2015.. We are PROGRESSIVES AND WE CANNOT AFFORD TO WORK WITH ENEMIES OF PROGRESS. 1 Like 1 Share |

Don't worry. Anything that is noticed by Buhari and his team not to be done in the national interest will be reversed. |

I reserved my praise for Jonathan because I know that he made that call under compulsion The International Community must have warned him. All these last minute firing and hiring are the expressions of anger, frustration and defeat. |
