Suspected Fulani gunmen kill 30 in Plateau villages MAY 4, 2015 No fewer than 30 persons have been confirmed killed in a fresh attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen in two villages in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State. The killings was discovered on Monday in Vat and Zakupang villages of Foron district, where the Minister of Water Resources, Mrs. Serah Ochekpe, hails from. Among the dead was said to be a pastor, identified as Luka Gwom, who was working with the Church of Christ in Nations. The Taroh people of Langtang have condemned the attacks on their community that has left more than 39 people dead. They described the attacks as conspiracy against the Taroh people. Secretary–General of Ngwang Ishi ‘O’ Taroh, Pastor Nanlir Napbut, described the act as genocide against the Taroh people. Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Emmanuel Lomang, while confirming the killings to journalists on Monday in Jos, said the suspected Fulani attackers killed 17 people, including women at Vat village in the early hours of Monday, while 13 others were killed at Zakupang village all of Foron District of Barkin LGA of the state. Loman, who condemned the attack, blamed security agencies for not protecting the lives of the citizens of the local government. He also decried the inccessants attacks in the locality and challenged the security agencies, especially the STF, to take action towards arresting the attackers. Village head of Kapwen in Foron District, Da Gwom Ishaku Pam, also confirmed Gwom’s death. He added that a young lady, named Pualina, who got married two weeks ago, was also killed by the attackers. The village head said the series of the attacks in the locality had caused them sleepless nights. Efforts to contact the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Abuh, and Media and Information Officer of the Special Task Force, Capt.
