The Three R's by Horlarmiday(m): 11:20pm On May 07, 2015 |
Environmental resource management is a purposeful activity with the goal to maintain and improve the state of an environment affected by human activities. It aims to ensure that ecosystem services are protected and maintained for equitable use by future human generations and also maintain ecosystem intergrity as an end in itself by taking in consideration ethical economic and scientific(ecological) variable. The three R's of environmental resource management are: Reduce,Reuse abd Recycle. These three little words when put to practice can help in promoting a green economy. From the general definition of <!--more--> "Reduce" it means to make something less or smaller in size. Referring this to green economy, we can say that we have to reduce somethings we do that cause environmental degradation(especially waste). Some of these things we should reduce will later be brought to your awareness but if you can think deeply, properly and widely, you should be able to identify some of them. Reuse simply means to use something again. Our nylon bags, plastic bottles and so on, can be used over and over before being thrown away or put in a recycling bin for further processing. Recycling is not the most important of the three R's(which none is) but it is a technical aspect. Recycling is the recovery and processing of materials after they have been used, which enables them to be reused. For example, used paper, cans and glass can be broken down into their constituent, which form raw materials for the manufacture of new products. It however prevents waste of potentially useful materials. Recycling is an integral part if the division of waste management and it spans the entire environmental health sections. The notion and action of recycling is an important step towards helping the environment. Stick with me for more on "the three R's"
