An eight-year-old Ivorian boy, Abou, was found inside a suitcase being carried by a 19-year-old woman into Ceuta, a Spanish enclave next to Morocco, on Thursday. According to AFP, when police opened the case, the boy who is now in the care of authorities in Ceuta was found in a “terrible state”. The 19-year-old courier is not related to Abou, and was paid by his father to carry the suitcase, according to El Pais, a Spanish newspaper. The boy’s father, who is also named Abou, lives in the Canary Islands and had hoped to be reunited with his son, El Pais said.
