The future is ICT. GIS is more needed in oil and gas sector while Computer science can work any where. I work in oil and gas industry and suprisely Computer science graduated are even doing the job of GIS. However all depends on your vision and not your ambition in life

You should know that the world of computer is vast . It depends on the area you want to speciaIise. I see GIS as an area of specialization in Computer, but with Computer Science you can work in where.

GIS is a field that you can specialize in at postgrad level. You'll learn a lot more studying computer science at the undergrad level.
