Two days ago, there was a Vanguard article titled "Jonathan Deceived Ndigbo On 2nd Niger Bridge, Ohanaeze Tells Buhari" which made FP on NL. After reading the article, I wondered how a respected body like Ohanaeze Ndigbo will tell tales about the "Second Niger Bridge" by saying "no work is going on". Out of curiosity, I had to do some background check on the so-called "Caretaker Committee" to ascertain whether or not they speak for the same Ohanaeze that endorsed Jonathan only two months ago. I also did a background check on the leader of the group Chief Ralph Obioha. 22 December, 2014: Ralph Obioha Ohanaeze factional "Caretaker Committee Was Created" There was leadership tussle in the Ohanaeze Ndigbo. The President-General Chief G. Nnachi Enwo-Igariwey insisted that his tenure lasts for 4years ie 2016 citing an amended Ohanaeze constitution. His Executive also secured court injunction against any election. However, a splinter group led by Mbazulike Amaechi had a meeting to conceive a factional executive known as "Ohanaeze Caretaker Committee". Tolexander:Very fine, that article only support the original post. It was the legitimate Ohanaeze that endorsed Jonathan and the position has not changed. Take a look at the President-General of the group. The Ohaneze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, has endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan for the second tenure in office. The President-General of the group, Chief Garry Igariwey, made the assertion on Tuesday in Umuahia, while briefing Gov. BlackMaria:Obiano though Governor of Anambra state still enjoys his inalienable right to association. His position was his own idea and was never endorsed by the Igbo majority. Beside, he never went there to abuse Jonathan. Arthur Eze is a businessman, he went there for himself and not for Ndigbos. Visiting Buhari though is not all that bad, but what is said at the meeting is more important. In the case of the APC consortium parading themselves as Ohanaeze, they made it appear like the "Ohanaeze" body did a 180 on Jonathan. Whereas they have been pro-Buhari/APC from the onset.
