I think the bible emphasized Cain's birth because of his wicked act of murder against his brother ,Abel . Do you have proof Cain was Adam's first son?
Don't base on I think /assumptions.yes the Bible gave a picture that he was the eldest

Sometimes people hide their ignorance behind religion sad
OwerriChairman:
Wonderful Nonsense;
especially the part you said Adam was not the first man.
Are you serious?

It was after God said "Let us make man in our own image..." That He made Adam.

So, you mean there were nations somewhere at that time?
Yet God would say "Let us make man in our own image and likeness?"

Do you by any chance know that you re implying that God was not actually aware of those "nations" you are talking about?

Exactly why I called this a packaged nonsense!

God doesn't reveal things all at once. He reveals little by little only the things we need to know at that time...

Moses was writing days. It was later it was reveal that a thousand days on earth is a day in heaven

pls ur no. 8 is totally wrong for the reasons am gonna enumerate below:
1. That portion of the bible at 2 Peter dat u quoted clearly shows that the portion was talking about how God destroyed the world of Noah's day that had flagrantly disobeyed God's laws with blatant disregard.
2. The bible makes it clear that Adam was the first man God created and through whom all the nations of the earth came into existence
3. If u are saying that Adam wasnt the first man created by God, are u then implying that the bible, which was inspired by God, is lying??
4. If the bible shows clearly that through one man, Adam, son came into the world and that Jesus was sent down here to ransom or save mankind from the bitter effects of sin and death, do u know that u wld be implying that Jesus' death was an exercise in futility??

pls, my dear, double check ur 'facts' pls...

2 Peter 3:5-7
5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

Genesis 1:2

2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

why do you think its Noah's flood

I believe so. Am not limiting God's power and might

But heaven and earth and solar system and other systems might have been created the same period

But just as most planets are dormant and lifeless and not in use, so was earth too before God started the creation process.

Religion is not science. There are so many things we can never agree on.

You started out wanting to clarify certain issues but ended up confusing your readers.

Many of the verses you quoted do not have any correlation with the points you wanted to buttress.

By the way, whether you believe the world is six thousand years old or six million years does not make you a good christian.

The bible advises that true christians should not engage in unnecessary arguments like the unbelievers.

Exactly. There are too many holes in ops story. He left me bewildered after reading. There was nothing to grasp onto.

Nice one the only part I differ is were u talked about human existence before Adam.
In the Pre-Adamic world it was Angelic being that existed them and it had lucifer as the head, after pride set in and lucifer ascended to hevean but got send down by God. At that point that world was destroyed. Then heaven and earth was made.

Let me also add that when the Bible speaks of a day it means a thousand years, if you recall 2peter 3:9b says "one day with God is a thousand years and a thousand years as one day". this means that each creative day amounts to a thousand years in God's eye going by this calculation we can conclude that God created everything for 6000 years.
And on the 7th day he rest, mind you God is still resting because the 7th day is yet to come to an end, remember a day is equal to a thousand years so the 7th day amount to a thousand years.
Research shows that when this 7th day comes to end which signals the end of God's rest, God's Kingdom will come and armageddon will strike.
presently we are living at the edge of the conclusion of the 7th day.

This is ridiculous
. I don't agree

Why the lols?! I am not confused and didn't refute your post at any point, we're trying to clear the air on the misconceptions.
Digest this;

Most Christians have a big problem
here understanding the first two verses of
the Bible!

God created the earth, a beautiful home, for His
children.
He created it perfect, as He always does with
everything He creates, and He created it to be
inhabited.
Listen to Him:
Isaiah 45:18
For thus saith the LORD that created the
heavens; God himself that formed the
earth and made it; he hath established
it, He created it not in vain, He formed it
to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and
there is none else.
Let there be no doubt about who is speaking
here.
It is the Creator God of Genesis 1:1.
This is extremely important because He says
that He did not create the earth in "vain",
but He formed it to be inhabited, and it was
habitable.
The word "vain" used here is the Hebrew word
"tohu"
and it means desolation, utter waste.
God did not create the earth as a desolation, a
wasteland.
It certainly makes sense, for even man doesn't
create things "tohu".

Now let us return to Genesis 1 and read verse 2.
[2] And the earth was without form, and
void; and darkness was upon the face of
the deep. And the Spirit of God moved
upon the face of the waters.
Uh, oh!
We have a big problem.

We just read in Gen 1:1 that God created the
heaven and the earth
and now it says that the earth was without
"form" and void,
which is the exact same word, "tohu", used in
Isa. 45:18.
In fact the phrase "tohu va bohu", without form
and void,
means totally and utterly desolate and wasted.
Look it up in Strong's concordance.
Remember, don't take man's word for it,
document it!
The apparent contradiction (of which there
is none, and there never is)
lies in the improper translation of the verb
"to be"
which is translated "was" in verse two,
instead of "became".
It is exactly the same word translated
"became" in Gen. 2:7"and man 'became' a
living soul".
Check it out!
You will also find that some translations have it
correct.
In fact, if you have access to an NIV
translation,
you will note that they suggest "or became"
in place of "was".
Therefore, Isa. 45:18 is correct.
God created the earth beautiful and perfect, to
be inhabited.
That could have been millions or billions or
trillions of years ago.
But then, in verse two, something must have
happened because the earth became "tohu
va bohu".
The beautiful earth that our Father made to
be inhabited was destroyed.
And guess what?
You can see evidence of it everywhere, in
the geological layers of the earth's crust,
in the fossils pressed between the rocks, in
the bones of the dinosaurs,
in the tilt of the earth's axis, etc., etc., etc.
So was there a "Lost City of Atlantis"?
Was there a "Lost World", a "World That Then
Was"?
The Bible gives us the answers in detail!

To study the Bible is the noblest of all
pursuits; to understand it, the highest of all
goals.
I pray that with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, you accomplish both.

Ok I get it now , thanks ... at least another person shares the same view with me

Mr. Philosopher,

How do you explain the sudden spontaneous release of energy which resulted in the "unimaginably chaotic event that ironically resulted in the formation of spatio-chronological order" that is the big bang?

What else do you scientists say created the current space-time continuum?

Do you agree that space-time would have long autodestructed before we had the chance to "evolve" if matter and energy had not behaved under strict governance of the quintessential "laws of physics"?

In my limited knowledge of such things, laws, whether governing neutrinos or nations, electrons or elections, are required to bring order out of chaos. Are you with me?

One question: If it takes intelligent discourse to promulgate laws in our everyday living experience, should it not follow that some form of intelligence ordered the laws of nature?

That's Good right there! Believing in God, with proper application of knowledge does answer a whole load of questions!

I am a scientist of sorts, intelligent after a fashion; I choose to believe in God, and Jesus is my Savior.

Have a nice day.

Funny post up there! May be you need to read "Argument from Design" / "Teleological Argument" to see where scholars like St Thomas Aquinas (Five Ways-The Fifth Argument), David Hume, Aviccena, etc., argue from intelligence but all ran into another problem.

The fact of ozone layer, rain, sun, moon, night, days, etc., may suggest that an intelligent being is responsible for them but what makes that being God? Cant it be fish or anything else (considering Anaxemander's position).

If by the scriptural Text: let make man in our own image, you mean God is a 'being', then, is God a He or She or both? Some have suggested God is a 'it'

These things suggest 'intelligibility' but what if that intelligent 'thing' is something greater than which man can conceive (not God cos He has been seen or thought of as a 'being'-As pointed out in the Bible)?

My philosophical opinion!

To clarify:

- The earth isn't 6000 years old.
- The homo sapiens specie (probably beginning around Adam) might be about 6000 years old but there would have been previous human versions.
- Believing God created the universe and other aspects of creation does not mean evolution didn't take place. God as a creator could have started the evolution process and left it to mature over time. Just like when you plant an apple seed and it grows and becomes an apple tree. This view is called theistic evolution and that's what I believe in.

I might not agree with all that the OP said, but, in civilized climes, you test a theory by comparing it with available empirical data. That's the reason for scientific progress!
Can you please explain Isaiah 14:12? It says Lucifer was a leveler of nations before he was cast to earth! In quantum physics , time is a dynamic quantity, and the Bible affirmed it when it said that a day to the Lord is like a thousand years to man!
There are a lot of incongruities in the Bible, either man made or due to translation, but it still holds the eternal truth.
