Finaancial Quest News headlines FG targets N800bn oil revenue increase in three years: The federal government (FG) is targeting an increase of N800bn (US$2.5bn) in oil revenue over the next three years, according to the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan. The projection is based on an increase in the crude oil production volumes from 2.2 million barrels per day (mbpd) to about 2.5mbpd. This is expected to be achieved as a result of the restoration of peace in the Niger Delta following a series of consultation by the acting president, Yemi Osinbajo, with stakeholders in the region. (Source: Punch) CBN boosts forex supply by US$170m: The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Thursday offered the sum of US$100m as wholesale interventions and sold about US$70m to meet requests for business and personal travel allowances. The CBN acting director, Corporate Communications, Isaac Okorafor, said in a statement that the bank remained resolute in ensuring that it supplied enough forex to genuine customers of Deposit Money Banks and in increasing liquidity in the market. (Source: Punch) Udoma - FG working to reduce high interest rates: The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo Udoma, on Thursday said the federal government (FG) is currently working with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to reduce the high interest rates across the board. Udoma also said government is also trying to improve the working relationship between the fiscal and monetary authorities.
