Robust Social Media Participation In The Polity by Ukarakpa2019: 5:09pm On May 12, 2015 |
My fellow compatriots, I have observed keenly the level of participation and enthusiasm we have engaged our politicians via the social media during the just concluded elections. I will be seriously hoping that this same level of social media participation in the polity be sustained up till 29th May 2016 in the first instance and even beyond. Then I will love to see the pattern of criticism/comments because by then the "MESIAH" (GMB ) must have stayed a year in office. I believe that within a year, the focus and direction of the incoming administration will be visible. Let's pray and hope that #change was not just a facade for winning the masses against an already perceived failed administration. No Nigerian should make the fatal mistake of blaming the so called economic/administrative havoc caused by the present administration as the reason the incoming government of #change is not succeeding if it fails to. Let's recall that successive government (military /civilian) always complain that they met a decayed system. We never excuse their failures inspite of that. More interesting is the fact that the incoming govt saw all the challenges and weakness of the outgoing government, yet they offered themselves as an instrument of #change. Let's be hopeful that they keep to their promises rather than give us litany of excuses. We will criticise constructively. God bless NIGERIA! |

Nigerians never expected GEJ/PDP to take them to El Dorado. They simply wanted them to utilize our revenue judiciously in the best interest of all citizens. I am also certain that well meaning Nigerians are not GMB/APC to provide "Messianic" changes, but that they should utilize whatever resources is available in the best interest of all Nigerians. In the light of these, however the new administration performs, I am pretty confident that they will be light years ahead of the GEJ/PDP administration. Nigeria will definitely be much better in the next few years. But more importantly, GMB will put the country on a trajectory of success, not like GEJ taking Nigeria to a mountain cliff. |
