Your response is a rather simplistic answer. Visa issuance is a sum total of a lot of things. Academic credibility, financing, students record, composure and fluency during the interview, ability to state your mission without flinching, likeability, history of educational continuity in the field, no long periods of doing nothing etc.
Which one Is if your course can make you successful? That's not the Vos job pls. No one can predict success.
Then of course in Nigeria there's the God factor. But I'd rather not delve into that. But please let's not mislead people here with inchoate answers.

I got my f1 visa today. Honestly, I can't remember the conversation that transpired between me and the officer (the Chinese at window 1). All I remember was that I forgot ALL I prepared for the interview and said a lot that was off. Nevertheless, the man issued me a visa. Since I can't remember, I am going to state my profile as it appears on my DS 160:
1. I completed my undergraduate degree in 2005 with a BSC in Economics
2. Since then I've worked with a commercial bank as a contract staff (since it was difficult for to get into mainstream) and later as a real estate agent when I lost that job.
3. I applied to 7 universities ( 2 in UK and 5 in US) : I chose MTSU for an MA in Economics
4. I have my elder brother as my sponsor. He resides in Katy, Texas
5. I am still single at 34.
Even though I was very confident about my visa before the interview, cos I practiced for months, but when the actual conversation started and lost my footing, I concluded in my heart I wasn't going to get it but lo and behold, he issued me.
MY THOUGHT:
- If you have genuine intentions of going to school, there is a very high chance you'll get your visa approved.
- For those whose profile looks like mine and you are sure of 1 above please get all the advice you can here from the gurus, you will get it.
- Document is key. Take time to prepare your documents from university applications to visa application. It shows your level of organisation and portrays you are student who is meticulous. Be consistent with the information you provide when filling your forms.
- please say the truth. I think they now show preference to people who are truthful. He was surprise when I told him 34. He thought me to be younger than 34. At that time I sense he saw my sincerity, even though I was shaking and speech was not coordinated. And if you have a relative in the US please don't hide it. That information may be the difference between your visa approval and denial.
-Be excited about what you're going to the US to do. Read about, watch it on YouTube, join Facebook groups for it, in that way you won't struggle with questions when they come, as I saw a lot of people do today.
-Finally, God. When the Lord says it's your time, No man will stop you. I was denied a UK study in 2009. Denied Canadian visa twice, one in 2013 and another in 2014.
I know that some people may ask why am so excited about visa people get every day without sweat. My excitement is about the lesson that follow :
A. God is able to do all things
B. It is not over when we fail, but it is when we quit
I hope this helps someone! 15 Likes |

Failure to attend the university that issued your I-20 (or through which you got your visa) is effectively declaring yourself wanted to the authorities. Transfer is possible after one semester, it could be tricky with a masters program in general and particularly in your case changing from arts to science. Not impossible but more classes = more tuition fees/semesters, transcript evaluation for the IT ........ 1 Like |
