Big.ot!

Why don't you do the world a favor and hang yourself?

Your independence will never come... Until when all the lunatics amongst you see the reason to accept the facts that in Nigeria some other tribes are better than yours and will naturally make progress... Peace will elude all children of sorrow and anger.

With common sense, you will realise that I am far better than you in this engagement... But your stupidity will not let you stop... Until I use "sledge hammer" of rethorics re-shape that your flat head...just like your fathers... Cowards like you don't pick the battle they can win.

It's an integral part of our culture. Some take it to the extreme though, which shouldn't be so. Besides, OP, if I were you I'd keep on ignoring that attention-seeker who demand that you must greet her every time, whether I have something else on my mind or not.

You better close one of your eyes when you get to a land where people have one eye each. Or else..

Good day everyone, i was going to shop yesterday where i learn tailoring. I passed the shop beside us when a girl of about five to seven years older than told me that i passed without greeting her. I know it is right to greet those older than you but there are sometimes you're thinking of another thing and greeting is not on your radar. I smiled and passed thinking she was joking...

In the afternoon me and my senior passed, none of us greeted...she now told my boss dat i don't greet...

Thank God my boss is a watsup man so he just told me that i should try to greet..

The point is
why didn't she complain about the other guy with me? What nutrient do people gain from greeting them that she does not want to let me be...

Work that i just started less than 3 weeks, they want to spoil my name angry

Yorubas, not all are too obsessed with greeting. You will never see an Hausa person complaining about greeting...

That's not only the person I have seen complaining.

This story sounds more like a feminine egocentricism and less of culture. She wants to keep u realizing that she pass u and she's not ur level or so

Greetings in Africa culture is not unique to the Yoruba culture alone. It cuts across most culture in Africa.
From the narration you made above, you said d person reported u aware to ur master who in turn ask u to try and be greeting people. No culture in Nigeria teaches arrogance or disrespect. If the person is familiar to you then I think you should greet. Am sure you were taught that from home. What I see here is pride because you are know the advertorial in woman but you decided to be work past her on more one occasion.

Make the Igbos in the house enlighten mua. Is it that in your culture you just wake up for morning see an elder on your way to the stream and pass by without any word of greeting, see your mother or father and just close mouth they look. your mother and father in law nko you swell like bread whey them put inside water waka pass.

To me every African culture has respect for elders and community at its heart and what way to show this than an acknowledgement of each other when we meet. Even in US and Canada greetings are no biggie.

The generations are getting rude and discourteous and at times instead of addressing this some try to justify it.

Go find your root in nearest refuse dump!

And let me cure you of one your ignorance, you said you alway switch to english because there no e or o form of addressing elders in it!

Wow! Sir and madam are african words for salutation. Moreover, they are yet to born anyone in your generation that would be bold enough to address the british royals ( or any member europe royal houses ) with your gutter level english eloquence.

Even here in Nigeria, there people you can't open your stinking mouth and address anyhow in your delusion of mastery of english.
Now say after me "YOUR ROYAL HIGHNESS, YOUR MAJESTIC, MY LORD, YOUR HONOUR, IF IT PLEASE YOU...... Declare me your slave. cool

And you indeed a slave to western culture. Ode

Don't mind those american wanna be. The problem black american are facing now can be trace to lack of respect of elders, which killed the closely knitted family affection present in many rural african home.

We in the cities all over africa are moving unwittly in that direction now. Soon children will start giving their parents the beating of their live......or calling the police on them cool

Yoruba can greet to any length, we have respect for people like they says respect is reciprocal , don't wait for someone to greet you, you can be the first to greet.
#repoduduwa#
since 1450AD what have we gained from the greeting? if a girl greets quickly they will say she is a good girl. Those that doesn't will be wrongfully accused.
If a man or woman minds his/her buisness well he/she won't even notice if smebdy greet or not.
