The federal government has said that it is delivering relief and humanitarian materials to displaced persons and victims of Boko Haram insurgency under the Presidential Initiative for the North East (PINE). This was made known by the chairman of PINE, Prof. Soji Adelaja who also chairs the Special Committee on the Resettlement and Rehabilitation. .of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). He noted that the on-going effort by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Red Cross and other partners was a deliberate measure to cushion the suffering of displaced people in the region.
