Abuja - Members of Borno youth vigilante group said they played a significant role in the repelling of terrorists in the state with the arrest of a top Boko Haram member.
The insurgent leader has reportedly been arrested in Dumsa Village, a spokesperson of the youth vigilante said.
"I am on my way to Dumsa right now to get delivery of one of the chieftain of Boko Haram that was arrested by our men there" youth vigilante leader, Barrister Jubrin Gunda, said.
The arrest came as Boko Haram deployed six female suicide bombers during the attempt invasion of Maiduguri on Wednesday night.

Gunda added that the death toll recorded by the insurgents was significant as the latter had to flee back when they met the superior firepower of the military.
"The military were able to repel back the insurgents. The youth vigilante group was also involved in the operation," Gunda said.
A curfew has been imposed on Maiduguri, the capital of the restive state, following the latest attempt by terrorists to gain control.
