Etche is an Igboid tribe in Rivers State.
Etche is a pure Igbo group. I've interacted with some of them who were students and that just left Rivers state for the first time. I understood clearly except for few words which is typical of various Igbo groups. I've been to Ozuzu-Etche and the Igbo I heard there is the same with what is obtainable in other communities in Imo state bordering Rivers in that axis.

That still doesn't make them ibo!
Arsene Wenger speaks germanic language but he's no german because his ancestral history is linked with the french!
The kaba people of Kogi speak unadulterated yoruba but no yoruba is forcing them to become one. The itshekiris speak adulterated yoruba but nobody is forcing them to be one!
Ibos should stop forcing their fraud ideologies on people.
Ibos should get a life, pls.

If you're given a map and pencil to identify where Etche is can you do that? You speak of what you don't know. Have you done any research on this people? A people who even have an isu group in their land and whose umu remains the same umu just like in other Igbo areas and share the same ancestral gods like their neighbours in Imo state. I won't speak further with you.

Bunch of whiners, get lost.

Brouhaha!

Why can't ibos stand on their own?

No one is addressing the issues raised by the op.

Noblezone please come oooo.

I dont think you are following the events,

That we are discussing and accommodating those who want to come with us does not mean we cant stand on our won.
Igbos are not begging anybody to join the struggle.
We can build Biafra without any other.

I am sorry to disappoint you guys, I am not in for this Biafra and Lower Niger thing, neither am I in for this cessation nonsense!

I will not be party to an institutionalized creation of smaller minorities within the minority.

Before we leap, don't forget: The Igbos used the instrumentality of government power to almost extinguish the other tribes and ethnic groups on this side of the Niger, during the reign of regional system of government; All schools were in Igbo land, even though the white man came through the sea; All commercial cities were in Igbo land even though the produces were from Etche, Ikwerre, Ogoni, Orashi, and ijaw lands; the rail system was conjured to start or terminate in the heart of Igbo land, even though they had no raw materials and sea ports; They forced the teaching of Igbo cultures and use of Igbo language in schools and churches and systematically almost exterminated the traces of other groups around this area; and when it was war time, they made the Niger Delta the battlefield.

The Ikwerre man loves to hate and cheat the Etche man even though we are brothers, the Ijaws think themselves alone as Niger Deltans, the Ogoni man continues to be used and dumped. So why should I willfully subject myself to yet another generation of slavery or be joined in a marriage bliss, or sex without mutual orgasm? What is in this breakaway for an Etchepian? Tell me why i should change my mind.

What I believe in and will continue to agitate for, is the kind of political goal congruence in the North and working at building a viable economic structure in the entire southern Nigeria. Politically, the entire south must realize that there is blessing in diversity. We must mobilise our diversity into a common political goal and support it with a strong economic base from the resources God has blessed us with- From Badagry to Bonny to Bakassi to Awka, we must form a political block with which we battle the North who have declared us infidels. It is an intellectual war, not a physical combat.

Biafra say, Biafra no say, Lower Niger say, upper Niger no say , all na the same thing! It is the same Ikwerre to Etche treatment!

I wash my hands off this treachery!

am so dissapointed on u or whoever u are, if this is how d people of etche think then am highly dissapointed... all dz igboid minorities when other non igbo groups say Igbo's marginalized them even igbos wud also say they were marginalized, they forget that before now before the creation of states by Gowon d only group that I know ever advocated for autonomy was d ikwerres and that was because of ph which according to them they wanted more rights der since it was there's, if igbo men were marginalizing everybody or igbos dominated any offices it wasn't based on states or local govt or hamlets, but it was based on the people's names as anyone bearing chi or chukwu or ijeoma was seen as an igbo person... then all of a sudden an etche man comes up and says they were marginalized by igbos, well I don't blame them sha who knows if maybe if Aba/Abia state was carved into rivers state they wud have said igbos marginalized them too, very soon even Oyigbo people might start saying the same.

Chinwendu Oluo, you must understand that Etche, Ikwerre and Orashi areas are all Igbo. You are from Etche, and you are Igbo. Do not be brainwashed of your Igbo identity. Do not let liars deceive you. Enemies of the Igbo nation have brainwashed some Igbo of the South-South to believe that they are different from the Igbo of the South-East. Igbo leaders have also contributed to the miseducation and division of the Igbo people. I call for a fundamental re-orientation of the Igbo psyche so that we can collectively move forward as one people. That is why I solidly agree with Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Prof. Chike Edozien (the Eze of Asaba) who insisted that the entire Igboland should be grouped together in one geopolitical region, as such would ensure Igbo unity and facilitate the rapid development of the Igbo nation.

Lemme rephrase ur memory;
During d reign of regional system all schools where in igbo land, pls can u give me examples of doz schools, apart from Unn which other university was in igbo land, also were u aware dat d present unical and uniport was once subsidiary campuses of Unn...
D white man came through the sea and all commercial cities were in igbo land, u forget that some of these ancient cities were not founded by either Nigerians or igbo's it was founded based on the roles they played in d slave trade, as they were ports or wud I say slave markets established by the white men, but when slave trade was abolished they maintained der dominance as market points, all commercial cities were in igbo land yet Ph, became one of d largest cities in the east, so much that after d civil war the igbos lost a lot there from d abandoned property saga, igbos had no raw materials but u forget that before d discovery of crude oil, coal was a dominant resource with high demand, which was present in Enugu, how many clay deposits were in Etche, d same agriculture dats in Etche is present in all part of d East, so how was Etche cheated?... d rail system was it suppose to terminate in Etche, was d rail system not established based on trade routes?... was rail system not established in Enugu because of coal export, all rail passed to the north, so can u pls tell me one rail line dat terminated in d Igbo land, are u aware that most of d rail lines were established by our colonial masters not Igbo men.
Also Mr Man since u said igbos forced there language in churches and schools, can u pls come out and speak ur language to us, is Amadioha an Edo word? Is chinwendu an Edo word?... pls explain to us how we did it... I have a lot to say to u... but pls come and explain d above for us...

Don't fool your self. If you are really an etche man,you should have some sense of self belief and self determination. Nigeria is a whitemans fabrication and the Etches survived and thrived long before the creation of Nigeria. If anything, the existence of Ngeria has dragged the SS people back from where they should have been by now. What have you gained by the 100 year existence of Nigeria? What value has the Yoruba or Hausa man added to your life? You people have been squashed by the three main ethnic groups and you are jumping for joy. Your oil and gas wealth has been stolen to create the wonderland known as Abuja which will one be the capital of northern Nigeria. If you fear Igbo domination then agitate for Niger-Delta Republic. Nigeria simply does not work as a nation. It has never worked. One last thing I want to say. If the northerners had been the ones who had sea port and oil,do you think they would be fighting to be in one country with you? You don't think they would have seceded long time ago? Nigeria is fraud, get behind the agitation of the lower Niger and stop fighting to enslave within Nigeria.

What gains do Yorubas derive from the Eastern or Southern part of the country? Nothing!!

So where is the benefit for us in forming a Southern Regional bond? Some will say oil. We survived before oil was discovered, Yorubaland has its own oil and besides we are interested in diversifying our economy.

Why is the author afraid of Northern politics, rejects Igbo domination, but advocates for Yoruba domination?

I cant understand this Etche man abeg. We dont want anyone bonding with us whose sitting monarchy has no dynastic trace to Ile Ife, simple!
