Yeh Vaada Raha - (The Promise) is arguably one of the most popular Indian films ever made at least it was very popular in Nigeria. If you didn't watch it, then you weren't born in the 80's. The main protagonists in the classic Hindi film released in 1982 were Sunita and Vikram, pictured left from a scene from the movie. That's the actors together recently on the right. Rishi Kapoor is now 62 years old and Poonam Dhillon is 53 years old. And they are still actively acting. Good to see them again.

* Love at first sight. Stalking girl to win her heart is a popular theme in Bollywood in the 80s and 90s.

Making the promise at the temple.

Vicky and Sunita promise to always be together. Together, they tie the necklace Vicky gave Sunita (With a very powerful lady's voice theme playing underground and the camera going 360 continuously).

*Vickram: What do you wish for?

*Sunita: What do you wish for?

*Vikram: Our body, our soul......will never separate.

*Sunita: You and me are now one.

*Vikram: Sunita will be present in every breath I take.

*Sunita: My lips, my heart, will utter only one name- Vikram.

*Vikram: No relation, no duty, no religion,...will be able to separate me from Sunita.

*Sunita: May I die before I get seperated from Vikram. (Vikram didn't allow her to finish the statement, he covered her mouth).

*Vikram: This necklace, the symbol of our love will always be tied here.

*Sunita: Until the world exists, until this temple exists...and this necklace is tied in this temple...

*Both: We will always be united in love till then. That is a "PROMISE."

* Mom does not approve of Sunita. You have to marry a rich girl. How does that look like if you marry a poor orphan girl? Rakhee is a good actress. She makes you hate her and that's a good thing! From the moment you saw her on screen, you wanted to choke her.

* Going for the wedding alone, Since Mother disapprove, Vicky and Sunita elopes. Friend Gogi is there for support.

* Unfotunately they met with an accident. Vicky and Gogi had minor injuries while poor Sunita's face is severely damaged.

* Shammi Kapoor plays Dr. Mehra, the plastic surgeon who will treat Sunita.

* Dr. Mehra tells Sunita to be strong for the next six months. After surgery, she can surprise Vicky.

* Surgery is completed. Sunita's face is beautiful. However, it's not the same Sunita as before. Dr. Mehra didn't have a picture of Sunita. She didn't realize her face until she was about to call Vicky and sees herself in the mirror.

* Vicky still misses and loves Sunita. He can not move on with his life. His mother told him sunita died.

* The concert that revealed sunita is alive.

The best way to win her heart and to save her from embarassment. She'll love you back and you'll get the necklace you tried to win earlier.

I will tell you fingers are not equal again, what works for Mr A might not work for Mr B.
Some people are hustling 247 without resting for decades and all they can point to is a rented one room or one room&a parlour apartment. Meanwhile some people will hustle on that same path and within a couple of years Gbam!!!!, living big. But mind you, its not that the one that made is perfect or better, its only God that blesses hustle. Just know that.
