The 28th of March, 2015 eventually came. After all the postponements, the d-day eventually came. Oro sons and daughters had travelled from far and near to speak again. Some came all the way from the diaspora, some came all the way from Kano, and some came all the way from Port Harcourt. Our sons and daughters who reside in Lagos State where also spotted heading to the South-South with their brooms in hand. Oro sons and daughters in nearby Calabar where not left out. Indeed the Oro ethnic nationality had mobilized, not for politics, but for honour. Especially after the “G-8” hand returned from Abuja after “forty days and forty nights” of toiling for what is rightfully ours; a chance to occupy the Hilltop Mansion as the third largest ethnic group in the State; the third leg of the Ethnic Tripod that has kept the State of Akwa Ibom from its creation – Oro sons and daughters old and young converged with one agenda in mind: to defend the HONOUR and DIGNITY of Oro Nation. Our oppressor and the enforcer of our marginalization had spent billions from the proceeds of our oil wealth at the WADATA Plaza in Abuja to ensure the “G8” left Abuja with their heads down in grief, thereby leaving our communities in sadness.
