ECOWAS chairman, John Dramani Mahama did the unthinkable at the on-going ECOWAS summit in Accra when he paused his speech and started searching for missing pages in his speech.

“Where is my speech…I am missing certain pages in my speech…,” he said openly while delivering his remarks.

As Ghana’s President searched his missing speech, the audience including diplomats from the ECOWAS sub-region and beyond offered a thunderous applause.

Presidents from other West African countries including Liberian President, Ellen Johnsen Sirleaf and out-going Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan seated right behind him on the podium looked unamused as he asked for help which never came.

He was thus compelled to deliver the speech extempore before finally resorting to the speech.
