As PDP is faced with the option of having a fresh start, here are 10 things that I believe must be done:

(#1) Moving forward, party registration for members must be done at one’s place of residence, not place of origin. It must also be done in an open and transparent manner.

(#2) Membership cards must be immediately made available to anyone who is legally able to and chooses to join the party. The days of big (wo)men hoarding membership cards so they can stack delegates must be over.

(#3) For power to truly return to the people, democracy must permeate ever part of the party, consequently, from the Ward up, transparent, free and fair elections must be held to select leaders.

(#4) Money politics must cease to be part of what the party represents. Those who wish to remain in PDP must understand that moving forward, the mindset should be ‘Ask not what PDP can do for you but what you can do for PDP’ and not the current ‘What can PDP do for me (and my pocket)?’ Those who want to be in the party for the sake of making money, need to go elsewhere.

(#5) #4 Notwithstanding, at all levels, PDP should start training people on what good governance and leadership truly means, and what public service is all about. Each LGA should have an ongoing “PDP Leadership Academy” where we train our leaders of tomorrow. Winning elections should no longer be about who has the most money and the fewest ideas, but who has the best ideas.

(#6) PDP should lead by example, we have enough elected leaders on the LGA, State and Federal level to show that it’s not business as usual. In line with this, PDP LGAs and States must become the model for good governance.

(#7) In line with #6 PDP office holders must become poster boys and girls (men and women) for responsible and progressive leadership.

(#cool PDP must start selling PDP. I truly believe we have the best and most desirable political party platform in the nation, people must be made to understand why this is the case, and be given compelling reasons to get excited about us and thus get involved.

(#9) In line with #8, a mass recruitment program should be initiated at the grassroots level, let our big umbrella truly be the big umbrella.

(#10) We must have fun and serve the people even if we are not in office. Life is too short to do otherwise.

#11- Emotional outburts: Pdp must stop throwing tantrums when confronted with superior contention.

The OP does not know anything about PDP and its politics. The remaining governors in the party have already hijacked it with today's resignation of Mu'azu. After may 29, the centre won't hold again in the party as their is no central unifying factor again. The governors will continue to run the party anyhow they in their respective states with nobody questioning them. Eventually, some people will break away and form a new party while others will merge their faction with smaller parties. PDP's faith is sealed, it will die a natural death.

PDP should appeal to the Youths and Young people. It should stop the practice of recycling. PDP Shall Rise Again!

That aydee,a totally discredited, cheap, opportunistic scavenger, can even b advising PDP on 'd way forward' shows how low PDP has sunk.

D best option for PDP is for it to b allowed to die a natural death and a new party formed. What is left now is too broken and traumatized to be mended.

I think PDP should form a strong media team who will tell their story and also act as opposition front for them...They should not allow others to tell their stories for them...Metuh styled media team isn't ideal neither for a ruling party nor as opposition...Internal democracy as Op observed is key too...

In the days ahead, they will need to change that name because it has a retrogressive effect on electorates mind. Be rest assured the name "PDP" is gone forever & ever after May 29.
