Sunnybobo3: Apology or not , The Nigerian Federal Government and whatever Nigerian restaurant that was libeled should sue them all. These "news" organisations have abandoned their ethical duties and turned into nothing but Anti - Nigeria propaganda channels. AFP, BBC etc are not news organisations because facts do not matter to them. They are propaganda outlets trying to undermine "others." If some one had given then this same headline saying "BRITISH restaurant selling human flesh," they would have corroborated the headline before publishing. So Nigeria must respond and file for monetary damages. Apology is not enough. 1 Like |

When the damage has been done? How does that work? |
Re: BBC & DailyMail Apologize About Nigerian Restaurant Serving Human Flesh Story by mzilakazi(m): 7:36am On May 21, 2015 |
Nigeria is trying to make a damage control about the
restaurant selling a human flesh. Surely, the authorities
received the order from above to deny flatly the
incident ever occurred, so as to remove it from
international platform that may result into a serious
damage in the integrity of Nigeria's fast food outlets
especially to prospective international patrons. The
saga had to be manipulated and pushed under the
carpet, so that it does not ruin the business of other
competitors who are involved in the same business of
selling fast food. I understand that the move was to
save the face of those who are honest in the business,
those who sell the real beef, pork and mutton to the
public. Their image would have been unfairly
compromised if the authorities would have let the story
confirmed. However, I hope the authorities will now
have to deal with this scandal clandestinely. However,
I don't think I would ever eat any meat if I by mistake
find myself in Nigeria. 1 Like |

This is what happens when a news media who had failed to engage in investigative reporting drops a false report, only for another naive media to help disseminate it. Walking Incompetence. |

AirborneLacer: The incident might have happened as confirmed by lot of people in Anambra, but the authorities now know well that it will harm the industry of fast food industry. They had to devise a counter statement to flatly deny the reports so as to save the integrity of the business that add much value to Nigeria's GDP. Of course, such bad news will impact negatively on tourism, the food market and the country in general. However, I think this matter will be dealt with behind closed doors. |

Sunnybobo3: Wow! At last Nigerians are beginning to take these things seriously. Congratulation to those Nigerians without whose protest nothing would have been done by the Mail to redress the great wrong. It is just unfortunate that the tale has now spread worldwide and become a part of Nigerian history. |

lygn19: What do you expect. The second I learned the original article came from osundefender, I knew instantly the article and the contents in it is Yoruba usual tribalism manifesting. Is it not how they go around shouting on top of their lungs that Igbo's are criminals and when a neutral group decided to do a study on crimes in Nigeria based on regions, they discovered that SW, which has more Yoruba than Igbos is more criminal infested than SE which has more Igbo than Yoruba. Likewise, the same way their brother that was caught drug trafficking in Thailand was shouting on top of his lungs about Igbo this, Igbo that rather than trying to defend himself. It's the same way I knew of a Yoruba using his Igbo friend's name, emphasis on FRIEND oooo, to commit check fraud. The whole time everybody thought it was an Igbo committing the crime that nigga was doing. If not for the fact, the owner of the store assisted with the investigation, that his friend would have been locked up for a crime he didn't do or knew anything about. Emphasis again, the nigg@ was using his fucking friend's name oooo. After witnessing that incident, that's the day I learned never in a billion years trust a Yoruba. Those people have nothing but hate n their heart. If one can throw his own friend under the bus, nothing from them surprises me anymore |

I just saw the headlines now,....and I'm like when did this thing happen?why was it not reported in local media if it was really true? But that does not mean, it is entirely not possible.I mean, there are cultures in this country where people naturally use humans for sacrifice and also eat human flesh.Abi that one Na lie? Calabar, Benin, Some part of the Eastern Nigeria,Ogun, Osun, Kano etc Anyway.......sha, we all know there are places in this country where you can buy food cooked with human meat!Yea, it happens in Onitsha! weda as suya, pepper soap or fried meet. Just as there are places in this country where you can buy live human which they can kill for you if you want or just buy fresh human parts openly in markets either for quick money, power or for consumption. You will find all these places in virtually all states in nigeria, especially since 1999, with the introduction of democrazy in Nigeria. The Nigerian police know all such places, yet they will lock up.Politicians, shaddy businessmen and questionably rich people in this country are fucking vampires that feed on other humans. With the proliferation of secret societies in nigeria with many rules and code of living, there are now people who must eat human meat to satisfy their evil desires for wealth, power or protection. is there not an hotel around ogba Ikeja, where if you go in as a guest, your chances of coming out alive is 5%? or is there not a ritual den in Galegele area, in Edo State that has been i n operations since the 60s? good that BBC publish an apology but for me, a resident of this gad damn country.......what the BBC is apologizing for has been going on in this Gad damn country for years. make we tell ourselves the truth always. It is not about Igbo or Yoruba. It about Nigerians. As in Nigerians. |
