Reason is very simple.
We dont depend on government to survive.
We are more concernd about the availability of fuel than the cost of it.
Marketers being fuel to the East because they are assured of their money.

We drive inn, buy and drive out.

Did you see any "Silly Subsidy Protests" in the East?
No, we have more important things to do.

Subsidy removal would have been the best for Nigeria, but the cabal who benefit from it, deceived the gullible.

You are very on point! That's the resilience and focus I admire about the Igbos! In the SS, we have some learning to do!

That was how Lagos started. They didn't just jump to 250-300N a litre. It increased in an arithmetic progression grin
We are getting there too.
If it continues, we would soon start sleeping in a queue or buying from blackmarket

Na small-small nna.
I still maintain it's scarce.
This is the climax of the scarcity thus prices at this point reflect the current equilibrium of demand, supply and competition.....in simple english,it cannot get anyworse than it is except if somebody starts "smuggling" petrol from the south east to areas of extreme fuel scarcity in South west..

Government sold NNPC's most productive oil block
so they are protesting about the issue

just hoping that a change in government will change things back the way they are

(fuel is now sold at about 180/letre in Asaba Today -5/24/2015)
it was about 120-125 yesterday

The highest one pays in the north is 120. Some stingy or poor people would wait on a queque that sells for 87 and make the queque longer.
The trend is not good for the east, west north or south and reasonable citizen ought not be proud of what is happening.

Am at a filling station right now in Awka. There is fuel here in Anambra but the price is around 130-140 but people are buying shaa! They concentrated more on people that are buying for resell I mean the galon people. We have been shouting on them but right now they are beginning to sell to cars.

I am serving(NYSC) in anambra state, ayamelum local govt to be precise. The local govt is 15 times developed than BENUE (my state). The number of cars that ply the road(only in one local govt) here is more than all the cars in benue. Sentiment aside.the thing that suprises me about the area(ayamelum) is the oil discovered in OMASIAGU(close to kogi state), the refinary built there by anambra's govt is bigger in size compared with that of dangote cement company in makurdi~gboko express way(benue). Massive construction going on every day in this area couple with good roads, fine houses, heavy construction with bomb sound every second(bomb is used in construction) but electricity remine a big challenge. I salute the people of anambra state. After my service, I will stay in anambra state, precisely nnewi.

I would be surprised if there was. Why would there be long queues or scarcity for that matter in a region where the economic life starts at 0900. Nothing happens in the south east.

True!!!
I'm not saying that the southwest are gullible, I'm only saying that they tend to jump on the wagon of any protest against the FG without thinking. **drives into a filling station to buy fuel at #110 naira per litre, devoid of queue. Lagos stat, capital of useless protests and ISRAELITE CLAMOURING, Go and Die!!!

The South-westerners make people believe that the East is an enclaved village with no development at all...
Reasons is that, they don't travel out at all...

I really don't get what the big deal about this is, there is fuel here in Kogi but its quite expensive, it was sold at 120/130 in Lagos a couple of weeks back before it sky rocketed to its current price @kascharisbabe made a very good point, its obviously going to increase this week if the scarcity continues so what's with the noise that's there is no scarcity in the east, yes we know we igbos are the most resourceful peeps in Nigeria but this thread is absolutely senseless if you ask me after all there is also fuel in the North so why the chest beating on issues as irrelevant, my dad says they get fuel from Ogun which is close by and its available there too just expensive like other parts in the country, the person who opened this thread is just a confirmed trouble maker
