After reading the D.O Fagunwa's book, Ògbójú Ode ninu Igbo Irunmole, I got amazed with one of the book characters, the ARONI, who according to the book knows all about 'iwulo ewe ati egbo' and very powerful who is always with his/her rod, I google searched to know more about his personality and possible existence but couldn't find valuable infos. The wisest? I wouldn't even call him Aroni the wise Let's say he is a Forest spirit, having all knowledge of Plant properties as well but never involves in healing - this is Osanyin's role I used to read about one other Forest spirit, Aja who is said to accompany Ogun ni Igba Iwase, it's possible Aja and aroni are the same just different names |
