NUT Shuts Down Public Schools In Abuja by lalasticlala(m): 1:41pm On May 25, 2015
Public schools in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), were early Monday morning shut down following the strike embarked upon by the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), FCT chapter.

In a statement made available to the Nation, the leadership of the union ordered the closure of schools with effect from Monday due to non-payment of some allowances by government, non implementation of 2013 and 2014 promotion backlog.
Student and pupils were not allowed access to their schools despite the scarcity of fuel in Abuja.

Most of the students had to walk to school while those living far stayed at home.

It is like living in a post-apocalyptic nightmare! How can our leaders appear to be doing nothing while the whole country sits on a keg of gun powder? Foreign and national investors are shutting down slowly, the roads are dry, motorists are parking, hotels are closing, prices are shooting up, light is a story for the gods, fuel is a scarce commodity, water cannot be pumped. For a country blessed with mineral and natural resources, I don't believe we can ever degrade to this level! Even the amount of internet users have dwindled because phones are dead. Nigeria needs a miracle! IT IS WELL!!!

So this is the much adulated "FTC" on nairaland? Well, nothing special afterall. Freemanan, I summon thee! cheesy

Realy bad, try as u may, Almighty God wl surely sustain us. We shall all live to witness the good days ahead. Though ur plan is to make things hard 4 us so we could regret our actions (voting for change), but as d Lord liveth, there's no regret. We've crossed our hearts no going back. Change is all we need.

God help us, we don't want to end up like Greece.
It's starts like a joke, and gradually it becomes national crisis.

Who is responsible for this??

Or, do we need the military??

Nigeria's problem is that we are not using our numerous mineral and material resources to fuel an industrial revolution...rather...we sell and sell...and share the money...and thus become dependent on another man's money....to the extent that when prices crash, we are broke.

Nigeria needs freedom from resource dependency. Nigeria needs industrial development. Oil is not a blessing.
