You are on the right track. The next step is to get your qualifications assessed i.e your Bsc and ICAN by any of ICAA, CPA or IPA. You can check the specific requirements as well as processing times and fees of each assessing body via google afahears: 1 Like 1 Share |

Dear bosslady, your counsel will be highly appreciated. I submitted EOI to western Australia for program/project administrator over two months ago. yet to be nominated. I have 60 points with state nomination, in few months, i will lose 10 points because of age. The only other state with this occupation is Adelaide, they require 80 points to apply, I cannot make this 80 point even with superior English (retake IELTS). Do you think going for 489 may make a difference in the nomination for western Australia even though i still need to get a job in the region if i am nominated. I know you were on 489 and converted to 190 within months of arrival. Am thinking of this, please kindly advice me. Thank you |

That other accountant with ICAN that we kept addressing and antispambot kept banning us. What's ur age? Pls go thru the three assessing authorities for accountants and decide the one u go with. U have to nominate an occupation that aligns up to 80% of ur duties...6yrs gives u 10points. |

enilim:U may need to focus on what u can do to pull through. Redoing ur English test for maximum points to move to 189...may be it. |

Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by NNBB2012: 1:54am On Jul 17, 2015 |
enilim: Unfortunately, your occupation is not on SOL list hence you cannot apply for 189 and there are only two states,WA and SA that can nominate you. These states have strict conditions that you must meet which I doubt if you currently have them. For example, since your occupation is on schedule 2, it means you must have employment contract,English requirement and sufficient fund. The main reason why you have not been invited is because of the Employment contract. Do you have one now? And even 489 visa have similar conditions, so that does not help matter. The only thing I think you could do is to take a look at the list and see any occupation you feel that matches your qualification cum your experience and go for it. Australian migration requires thorough analysis before venturing into it in the first place. |

afahears: You forgot to mention your age range,25 to 32 yrs gives 30 points, above 32yrs gives you 25 points....But then you have a really impressive CV i must confess. i believe the next line of action should be checking if your occupation is still on the skilled list ,then submit your expression of interest(if you made the 60 points) before the visa application proper. As for being married with 2 kids...hmmmm!!! E no dey easy initially oh cos Australia is freaking expensive for newcomers, but there is always a way out. Here is a list of things that makes it easier to adapt initially 1.come with a lot of money(accommodation and daycare for your kids no be beans) 2.or if you dont have that, come alone initially(which is really hard cos of your family) 3.i reckon you should start applying for jobs from nigeria(after you have your PR,before landing in Oz),except you wanna do odd jobs till you get a job(very competitive profession). 4.Pray all goes well. Cheers... |

enilim: NNBB2012 has answered you. Also, how come SA needs 80 points? I don't understand. 55pts is the minimum required for state nomination on 190, and 50 for 489. |
Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by enilim: 4:18am On Jul 17, 2015 |
Thank you, I appreciate. I do have understanding of all these, i do not need employment contract to be invited, it is after the invitation that you need to show work contract. I am not saying am not able to meet the work contract condition, I just want to know the ease of changing from 489 to 190 within a year. Thank you once again NNBB2012: |
Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by enilim: 4:21am On Jul 17, 2015 |
He did answer but what i really wanted to know is the ease of changing from 489 to 190 in months like you did. its under special condition in SA, one of the conditions is ability to get high marks. Thanks bossladymo1: |

Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by bossladymo1: 6:14am On Jul 17, 2015 |
enilim: Changing to 190 from 489 onshore, is the same as applying for a 190 offshore. Once your occupation is on the list it should be on, then every other thing will fall in place. You can change to a 190 anytime after arrival. The only diff is onshore applications are sometimes processed faster by DIBP....which makes sense tho, as you are already here. |

Hello my people, I'm happy to announce the outcome of my PTEA scores (L 90, W 90, R79, S 71). If thank God for everything. It's a pity the owner of the place kept shouting while I was writing the test. I personally begged him to stop the madness but i guess he thought his business was more important. |

Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by scrollmeout(m): 11:11am On Jul 17, 2015 |
bossladymo1: Just consulted my Bro in Sydney. He says seeing that NSW 190 takes as long as 6 months, its probably better I wait till next month and apply for 189 which takes 3 months. I currently have 55points, I will get additional 5 points next month from years of experience. Bossladymo1, there's another issue I've been thinking about. How do you manage to cater for your baby, seeing that you are currently working? Hope its not too personal to share? |
Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by bossladymo1: 11:22am On Jul 17, 2015 |
scrollmeout: That was back when just anyone could apply for NSW sponsorship. But since they started sending out invites to qualified applicants, the wait time has reduced. But if you will get the points needed for 189 next month, then go for it. 189 does not restrict you to a state. My kids attend a daycare here. There is no traffic issue here, so I can afford to leave home 7:30am, even if I'm to resume by 8am....same for closing time. So they get their rest and are not stressed. |
