Tell me your opinion if you have a different one, men generally find it easier to pack for a trip than ladies. I mean, they don’t have to really bother about matching shoes and bag, hair accessories, make up and all, giving them a better edge to travel lightly.

Despite this, most men end up leaving out the necessary things to pack; ending up at a nearest store each minute to pick up groceries and toiletries they should have packed.

This guide will help you with some of the things to pack.

So What Should You Pack?

If you are travelling to another country, then your passport and travel documents are top on the list to pack. When packing your luggage, roll your cloths so they can fit in densely in the bag. Even if you are travelling on business, make sure to take one or two comfortable t-shirt, Jeans and a casual shoe, you will need them for leisure tour of your new environment. Don’t forget your perfume, belt, socks, body cream, shaving tools, toothbrush, medications and other toiletries you need.

Electronic Gears
Smart phones and mobile devices are essentially part of our lives now – for communication purposes, navigation with Google maps, listening to music and taking few shots, it will come in handy as a personal guide and best friend. A power bank might also be essential to charge your device while on transit. Don’t forget your chargers!

Accommodation

You don’t want to get to your destination tired and then start looking for where to stay. With different online booking portals you can secure an accommodation of your choice before starting on your journey. Just like I told the ladies, have a plan A, B and C. You may get to the hotel and you don’t like it or no reservation was made as you thought, you can easily opt for plan B, or even C.

Be Careful When Going Wild

Adventure is a great thing. You are in a new environment – try the local cuisines, beer, etc. You can go check out points of interest or search for social events to attend where you can meet new people.

Discovering the nightlife in a new city is mostly interesting. If you are the type that ball hard, you might want to go easy now. As you are alone, you could be easy prey for scam artists who crawl clubs at night. It would also be difficult for you to get back to your hotel when you are drunk and all alone.

To be safe, it is better you don’t carry a lot of cash on you. ATMs are popular features of most cities so you can easily use your credit/debit card wherever you go and don’t carelessly display your money.

Taxis are generally a sure way to get around any major city you are visiting.

Other tips

- When faced with language barrier, relax and try to use body language.
- Learn a word of greeting in the local dialect.
- A flashlight may come in handy.
- Don’t forget your sunglasses and mint gum for fresh breath
