Nothing empowers the Human race like knowledge, to be informed is to be transformed, to be informed is the currency of destiny This moment, millions of Nigerians have come together to demand something better, they are hungry for new leadership and a new direction for Nigeria. These Nigerians are tribes who are tired of being divided; religious sect who no longer bother about the crisis of yester-years and people who are ready for change in the country. They are young people who’ve been inspired for the very first time and those not-so-young who’ve been inspired for the first time in a long time. They include veterans and churchgoers, sportsmen and students, farmers and factory workers, and teachers and business owners. They all have varied backgrounds and different traditions, but they share the same values that bind us together as one country: common sense and honesty; generosity and compassion; decency and responsibility. What we need from this new government is the ability to bring people to the table and get things done. We want our president to understand the world we live in today and come up with a detailed and workable plan to bring opportunity and security to all Nigerians. We need a leader who will level with the Nigerian people on the things that the government need to do and what we, as citizens must do to get our country back on track. Nigerians have decided and it is the turn of the new President and his cabinet to deliver and give the citizen another opportunity to believe in Nigeria. It is high time we distinguish between hope and expectation, Now let's begin to expect the best from our great nation, remember a nation can only move forward if the citizens are ready to take her forward. Congratulations Nigeria, it's the beginning of the long awaited era. Happy Democracy Day! |
