My God!!! This is simply too graphic; too depressing.

Accidents happen allover the world, but the statistics in Nigeria is more staggering and worrisome. We've lost too many loved ones to tanker accidents and fires. And this is purely due to our government's sloppy attitude to tanker and road safety.

I can beat my chest the ill-fated tanker has not undergone any thorough safety checks in decades. That's the system we operate. Nobody is held accountable for anything. No consequences whatsoever.

We can't keep losing precious souls to accidents that are largely preventable.

Our lawmakers are yet to pass a law that will control the activities and movement of these death machines. They're only interested in passing meaningless and useless bills.

It's NOT enough to type RIP. We must continue to demand accountability from ourselves and from those around us, especially those in power.

If we don't take preventive steps, it's a question of time till a similar or worse incident happens again.

May the souls of our brothers and sisters rest in peace!

Rip....(here's the detail)The tanker failed brake along MCC.... the driver kept shouting that the trailer uncontrollable... Kept blowing his horn .....nearing Onitsha South park... then collide with a duplex built by government... before that the driver already escaped.. The trailer crushed many...some tried to help people trap that are still alive ...some hungry mofos tried to get some fuel then came the explosion that cost many lives
