The origin and attributes of the word AMEBO:

Who first coined the word ''Amebo''?: Southern part of Nigeria: ,core Yorubas are not left out in this coined name otherwise referred to as Gbeborun, Eke, Solo Makinde e.t.c by the Yorubas . And South South(especially Edo and Delta) otherwise refer to it as Aproko.
Synonyms: Gossiper,newsmonger,tattler.

To be a gossip was used by shakespeare Originally In His novel titled...''Merchant of venice''.
Up before that, it always mean a rumour, poking nose into private matter of others.


AMEBO itself was attributed to the Nigerian ladies as a name tag for whoever makes comment behind a fellow.
It is believed that whenever men go working, women are left behind which gave them a lot of time to conceive,perceive and achieve untold discussion.
Some may say it's females that do most of gossiping but gossiping on the path of men should not be over emphasized these days.
Regardless of gender, Gossip is a characteristic of all human being
AMEBO is not a new cause of misunderstanding in relationships/Marriages.
