Develop A Video Game Centre Timer Like Gocybertix Software by samo(m): 11:36am On Jun 03, 2015
Hello everyone, I run a video gaming centre but I am having trouble with my boys who man the place for me, remitting the correct amount to me at the end of the day. Please does anyone know if there is a way to have a timer (just like GoCybertix timer used in cafes) can be attached to the video games. I have PS2, PS3, XBox.

Second question is that I have is that I noticed that most gaming centres in Nigeria are mostly equipped with Playstation and Xbox, however abroad, video game centres are also equipped with games from computers. Is it that Nigerians are not used to playing games from computers? I am just curious because if I could deploy the games on computers then I can have a timer just like just like GoCybertix timer used in cafes.

Interesting question.

I don't know about the PS2 or the XBox but as for the PS3, you might get something like that custom developed for you (if you can't find a free version). It might cost you an arm and a leg. Though I don't think you want a software automatically quits games since that will just infuriate your customers.

What you probably want is a readonly log. A program that can save each game session (the name of the game and duration of the game) in a file that can only be accessed by you and then a mobile phone app (for your boys) where they input game session details like which Television the gamer is playing on and the time the game should end. The app will then alert your boy automatically when the game ends. The app can also send the data entered to an online server where you can monitor their activities.

I suggest going the mobile app route since that will handle all the gaming platforms. The problem it has is that your boys might just decide not to use the app.

@lordZOUGA Thank you for your kind and prompt response, I am indeed grateful. Very interesting that an app can do that and its much more better than having a timer which could just log the gamer off as you indicated.

Please you mentioned a free version, please where could I get it? Because the arm and leg you talk so....hmm.. cheesy I dey try manage the ones I get grin .
Kindly respond. Thank you

The free version I spoke of was for the timer which I don't think exists. Since apps for hacked consoles are very very little. The only store for PS3 I know of http://store.brewology.com

If it is for the mobile app, you might use a calendar app but it will be like using a cutlass for a razor's job. It will be clumsy and will not contain the right features. You can find a developer to develop the mobile app for you with the right features. It shouldn't cost an arm and a leg. smiley

Hello,

I don't know if you will still see this....but I am planning on setting up a game center and have done a couple of researches pertaining to the issue you raised.

I got to know of a software called PanCafe Pro which can be used exactly the way you described the problem about knowing the time and keeping track of the amount of games played.

The software is also free though it is no longer being updated but it seems to have been popular back then. There are other software which can do similar things but they come with one subscription or activation fee.

Anyways, how did you later solve this issue and are you still doing the game center business?
