Well you have to calculate the opportunity cost of buying the and reselling it. If the buliding of shops will make more profit in the long run then why not.

ok cheers man,so what you reckon we can do,we have the funds to either renovate the one storey property it is at the moment and rent it out or put another floor or two depending on what the engineer or whoever s in charge of stuffs like that recommends, so these are the two options we have and we have to make a decision but i dont know what will be viable in that area, dont know that street as i dont go there just drive past whenever im in naija

I don't think the computer village thing will work right now, because there's really no computer trader there, except for 1 or 2 companies who own a corporate office there.

The best deal will be to renovate for rent, and tastefully, there are a few buildings that make big bucks out of this idea in the area.

If it's on Abeokuta street, near the banks, you can find a way to lease it out to them as parking space.
