Olukolade Claims Amnesty International Is Blackmailing Nigerian Government And Supporting Terrorists

Nigerian Director of Defense Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, has accused Amnesty International of attempting to blackmail the Nigerian government and military during his official response to a report published by Amnesty International detailing egregious human rights abuses by the Nigerian military.

His accusations that Amnesty International’s actions deliberately supported terrorists in the country when he said, “it is clear that Amnesty International (AI) becomes more active in presenting distractive allegations whenever the terrorists are losing ground in the battle.”

I wanted to say 'collateral damage', but I reasoned that if indeed the AI is telling us the truth and these people were my brothers I would say so.

But for the military, its really a dilemma, especially in this kind of war. How do you separate five innocent persons from a group of 20 terrorists who are ready to shoot you first if you dont kill at sight.

Maybe the forces need more training, but I dont see any change soon.

Amnesty International should also be very vocal against the activities of boko haram, so it doesn't seem like they are taking sides

This sounds like the Northerners waited for GEJ to leave and are behind this allegation.

How about the corpers killed by Buhari's supporters?

How about the Boko Haram Sponsors?

Somebody should tell this General that there is different between Nigerian government and Nigerian military.
