Nigeria’s incoming President, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.), yesterday disclosed that his cabinet would be announced very quickly within one week of inauguration; and that “Anyone with a whiff of corruption or any kind of taint will not be in the cabinet. Our manifesto will reflect zero tolerance for corruption”.

He however pledged to put an end to fuel subsidies, adding that the oil and gas sector would be reformed as a matter of priority in order to attract new investments.

The President-Elect, who stated this while unveiling his economic policies at a Lagos Business School breakfast meeting, noted that he would run a very lean government, which would involve rationalizing overlapping and redundant ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) in line with the Steve Oronsaye presidential committee report.

What do we have now? No major policy statement, no direction, even statutory positions like CoS, SGF, NSA and Service Chiefs are yet to be appointed, the cabinet would prolly be in months and we have an economy running on auto pilot

If you are going to criticize, do it with fact and reason. The bold doesn't make any sense. Why don't you wait and see how long it will take. He should name his cabinet next week after the inauguration of the 8th assembly.

It's only after the inauguration of the 8th NASS on Tuesday that we can have ministers.

It beats me really how dumb these guys are. What's the point of having a redundant "cabinet" (that is if one could even call it a cabinet when their appointment have yet to be confirmed by NASS). If he makes appointment today, what would the appointees be doing, playing Ludo in conference halls in Federal Secretariat??
