Bank Cases: What's The Correct Reaction To Cases Like This by Threedots(m): 2:11pm On Jun 07, 2015
i dont really know standard bank procedures so i'm asking,,, additional informations not related to this cases would still be appreciated....,

CASE 1

You came to withdraw N1 million from the bank,,, the cashier already stamped your withdrawal slip and had given it to you,,, as u were about to leave though the money was still on the cashier's desk, armed robbers came in. You pushed the money back to the casheir, she pushed it to you, till the theives came and took the money...

CASE 2

You came with your friend to the bank cos he just wanted to save some money. However armed robbers came and the normal place lie down and place your head on the floor routine,,, however during the scuffles some wands of cash fell right beside you totalling N200 000. You quickly stylishly put them in your pocket as the robbers where about leaving meanwhile your friend saw you. What you intend to do was act like you brought that money to actually save in your account but your friend wont let you do this, with the reason, what if you were caught, etc.

Questions

1. what would be your reaction to these cases, as in,, what would you do.

2. Do you know the normal process(dont knw hw to frame this question sef) As in what is the legal thing that banks do in cases like this.

Case1 = If the cashier has stamped your withdrawal instrument, then you are on your own. Your only saving grace will be the bank's CCTV.
but Robbers normally disable cctv, so you might not get a reprieve. Call it badluck cheesy

Case2 = If the CCTV captures you doing that, then jail is your last bus stop. unless the robbers has disabled the cctv before you take the N200k.
Btw, attempting that makes u a target for the marauders cool cool

Hi op,
In CASE 1, the fact of it is that armed robbers snatched the money on the bank's counter. Note that all banks are mandated to insure their asset(including cash) against theft(robbery),fire, transit and nature causes(flood) hence Your friend can write to reclaim that money from the bank with no issues, since the bank's insurance will ensure the insurance broker indemnify the bank of their total loss during that operation.

In CASE 2, it is a matter of personal integrity and ethics for you to hand over to cash to the bank explaining how it got to you irrespective of your friends reaction. How are you sure that a playback of their CCTV has not captured this action or the whole action of robbery was the bank's drill in case of a robbery attack.

Trust I understood ur points and responded adequately.

1st of all i say God forbid we encounter such. But when it does happen, in the heat of the moment, you will only be concerned about comming out alive. With Gun sounds and bullets zinging from ricochet, you'd wish the nightmare to be over as quick as possible. You will only remember your money when things get back to normal.
As for your money, follow it up officially with the Bank, where ever that leads or ends, na still #Godwin wink wink
