Thank you my oga. When people talk of cutting down salaries and allowances through "RMAFC" I do laugh within. These people are smart... See our Fashola, Amaechi, Oduagan and Akpabio. The funny thing is that their successors will maintain or do upward review

And there's no money to pay workers. When the time comes, Nigerians will realize that it is sheer stupidity that makes us attack ourselves on the internet just because we prefer one party to the other. THEY ARE ALL THIEVES AND NO THIEF IS BETTER THAN THE OTHER. APC IS there, PDP is there so who is the saint?

Because Kwankwaso has never been an apostle of it.

Another thing is, my estacode was only N15,000 and no security vote. Security vote anywhere is stealing. I don’t believe in it, I never applied it during my first tenure (1999-2003), and I don’t think I’m going to apply same now, in that the provisions aid corruption in the art of governance, I will like to lead by example and the moment you steal once, your subordinate will double your record.- Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso

barca so whats the way forward..who would save us from these animals called our leaders..by default people like akpabio, ameachi etc walk away with more than a billion per month and we have lots of nigerians suffering..what we need in this country is not an election but a revolution where the masses just kill every leader...because as it is these security votes are meant to continue and we have the same crop of leaders within the system...

No one but ourselves can save ourselves from leaders who were ordinary folks like all of us until they got into power starting as LGA Councillor.

And revolution is not the key as it simply replaces one bunch of thieves with another who are usually more clever in hiding their corruption while mercilessly killing any opposition. Evolution is much better as we have witnessed since 1999 but need to increase the tempo with greater debates and increased engagement of citizens in the political & governance process.

No state should be owing any civil servant #1, If the governors cannot sacrifice a fraction of their security vote to pay the workers, then they need to be stoned. imagine that Osun state governor owing workers #2B while he receives #400M as security votes every month. if this man has sacrificed #200M/month since January 2015, he would have paid half of the salary owed to these suffering workers.Even if he owes #20B, that would have been taken care of since the past 4.5years he has been the governor.
Giving the governors such an exobitant fund in the name of security vote is the reason they do not care for the security of the masses. Buhari and his team should do something about the secirity vote fund allocated to these inhumane and reduce it to atmost 20% of the current status.

Meanwhile Osun workers and indigens should enjoy the change you voted for.

@Those that may not understand. The so-called "Security vote" is an opportunity for Governors to enrich themselves. The FG statutorily fund Police and the armed forces, most of these monies end up in the pocket of the Governor and his friends. They do NOT ACCOUNT for security vote money, and they don't joke with it.

In other words, it's a defacto FREE money

I support all non violent moves to erase the leaders we have now..but my brother the process is damn slow...what if our evolution takes one millenium to be achieved?..the truth is the politicians we have now are grooming there family members and cronies to take over and continue the trend we are experiencing...I cant imagine that with all these monies the basic ammenities we cant boast of..no jobs for the youths...

I have been telling ppl for so long that there is no miracle buhari or anyone can perform with the current system of politics in nigeria. The problem isn't gej, tinubu or amaechi , the problem is the system of politics and society that produces these leaders. The leaders produced are the direct expression of the system and people. They are simply products of the system . And we are the system , as long as a governor candidate keeps spending as much as 6 to 10 billion just to win an election ,this sort of looting will continue ,as long as ppl keep collecting rice ,recharge card, fufu and 5000 to vote for candidates, these sort of looting will continue. This has nothing to do with party lines, apc senator and reps do collect jumbo pay packages with their pdp counterparts and they have never said it is too much. Politics in nigeria is a big time multi billion naira industry, where the amount u invest in will 90% determine how big your profit will be. During the last apc primaries in lagos ,delegates were given 5000 dollars each and some even collected more like 8000 dollars to vote for various candidates ,where did the money come from ?definitely from sources like this, Same with pdp also. So the solution is for the educated ppl to join politics and mobilise the grassroot against such practices or to start a pressure group which will be demanding for transparency and accountability from elected leaders. This security vote issue is just a minute tip of the ice berg, what about local govt funds and derivation fund grin
I just want to see our politicians dragged out of a sewage pipe like gadaffi and mobbed to death... angry...only we the masses can save ourselves and this useless entity called nigeria...we will keep voting and end up where we started from...the leaders are taking all of us for a smooth ride...

See Rivers, Delta and Akwa Ibom own
It is really heart breaking when one considers the opportunity costs of these security votes.

Not sure if this particular expenditure is covered under the constitution, I think the incoming NASS should do something about it. What exactly are they securing?? How many times has Kwankwaso died??

Would be reasonable to have this published on twitter and make it go viral. It is high time some attention shifted from the center to our respective states where some of the worst thefts have been going on undetected for decades.

For the first time since Feb 15, 2015 Omenka commented without abusing me. I hope we get better with time.

The truth is that nobody is securing anything. The Governors by themselves allocate such ridiculous amount. Sadly, no section of the constitution made provision for it

Where exactly is the money coming from and how is it being budgeted for through monthly/yearly allocation?

Is it the same money shared through the ECA account?

God will never stop blessing you if he does he will be impeached you mean some thieves stole, keep stealing our collective wealth and all we can do as losers it to fight amongst us. Blaming ourselves not the robbers and giving them more reasons to steal more by defending them with gej till 2019, sai baba etc, apc, pdp and one of them told us recently "we steal because you don't stone us" the poor masses are the problem of this country and these guys go out there create laws for only the poor to keep while they break it daily with impunity and when they are through with us check out the things they ban. Okada, keke and all other things the poor will survive on when will they ban jeeps and camry and other big motors last time at onitsha a truck belonging to one of them killed 85 of us, i know someone will ask them why they were there and when they visit ur state or area it ur roads they will block and flog silly out of u if u move anyhow the worst is that WE ACTUALLY EMPLOYED THEM with our votes do we even recall how much we stood in the sun to vote how many of them stood that long. nigerian poor have no sense. And when we get to our various places of worship they tell us pray for ur leaders we pray for them to succeed in robbing us or what we should rather curse our leaders you remember last yr when one of them refrained from saying 'AMEN' wen prayer turn to curse in one church i know even as i post this some of us will still find fault with my writeup saying am trying to stir up rebellion
