Before that can happen, Nigerians need to realize that corruption harms them, and that prosecuting someone who is corrupt is not an attack on their tribe, region ,religion or state.

The sad thing is that they do not. Any attempt to prosecute someone from tribe A will be met with bigoted comments. Sad.

He must have been kind to his blood, but he was unkind to Nigeria and must answer to his crimes. Thousands of people re rotting away in Nigerian jails for far lesser crimes.

I hope they get the punishment they deserve.

Stealing from millions to cater for dozens, in what earthly, heavenly or universal court is this justifiable? Imagine what people would do if there were no rules and laws.

Many Nigerians still gullibly believe much in the endless powers of prayer to right a wrong or to bring a dead thing back to life as in the days of old. We must begin to get real by realising that prayer is a spriritual tool and its not meant to address all life's physical challenges. Our pastors must begin to be honest with their followers by telling them that there is no sure substitute for integrity, honesty, mental capability , persistence and hardwork for anyone who desires success in life. And those pastors should confess to their members that the concept of forgiveness of sins in the bible has no place in present day social and justice systems. That is the reason why the constitution and other law books are more important than the bible or quran in our regular courts. But dreamers can still continue to dream if they so wish .

Chai... my heartfelt pity goes to them and i'ld have loved them to be given minimum sentences but the money involved sounds like something the PDP criminals would do...So throw the book at them Judge.

The relatives of the accused raining curses on those that exposed the fraud.... what a country! When your brother steals and come home he's celebrated but we shout everyday about corruption and hardship. Those relatives that benefited from the fraud and coming to the court to cause confusion should be arrested also. What a nonsense!

Among the relatives was a physically-challenged woman on a wheel chair, who kept praying for one Deji, one of the suspects, that the ‘good’ he had done and scores of people he had shown kindness would see him through the case. Another fair-complexioned woman wept uncontrollably, raining curses on those who let the cat of the bag, saying “Deji, God would consider all your good gestures and help you out.

“The ancestors of all of us you have shown kindness in various ways would make you go scot free.” Also, a man who followed our correspondent to the car, kept asking why should journalists give such attention to the case when there are several people in other sectors stealing billions without attracting any attention or publicity?

this is nigeria's problem apparently it is acceptable to do good with ill gotten gains even our religious institutions either openly encourage or turn a blind eye to it may God guide us all right smh!!!!
