We know it’s really sad to see Nigerian
celebrities who once loved each other get torn
apart by several factors especially when they
are being looked up to by followers and fans.
And although, some of this celebrities are
always in the news for one thing or the other,
but most of their breakups left the media and
everyone talking for a longtime.
So, here is a list of the most shocking, highly
controversial and messy celebrity breakups and

1. 9ice and Toni Payne



Many people found it unbelievable that 9ice
and Toni Payne could seperate but it
eventually did happen. Way back in January
2010, 9ice accused Toni of infidelity and those
familiar with the situation continue to allege
that Ruggedman had an on-off affair with
Payne before and during her relationship with
9ice.

But, both Ruggedman and Payne insist they
were all lies.
No one has been able to place a finger on the
cause of the breakup, but close friends of the
couple have suggested that it was majorly
due to “incompatibility”.

2. Iyayan and Yvonne Nelson



Their split led to Yvonne’s never to be
forgotten rant on twitter where she claimed
Iyanya was a liar and a serial cheat. With
Iyanya denying any involvements with her.
The duo dated for 7 to 8 months before
Yvonne reportedly found out he was seeing
Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh.
Asides Tonto, Iyanya was said to have been
involved with other girls because
Yvonne wasn’t living in Nigeria.

3. Emma Nyra and Ubi Franklin

Ubi was reportedly physically abusive
towards Emma who claimed Ubi turned her
into a punching bag and $exually abused her.
Emma had so many issues with Ubi Franklin
that she had to leave the record label.
However, in an interview last year, Ubi denied
being in a relationship with Emma and claimed
he does not $exually a$$ault her.

4. Doris Simeon and Daniel Ademinokan



Theirs was a really messy split as the movie
producer was alleged to have taken the
couples only son and fled abroad. Daniel who
is currently married to Stella Damasus was
accused of taking their 2 year old son and
absconding abroad. The marriage crash was
trailed with infidelity rumours, lies and
betrayal.

5. Ini Edo and Philips Ehiagwina



The actress who got married in 2008 was
reported to have been beaten by her husband
because of her alleged cheat*ng with
her bride price returned.

6. Jim Iyke and Nadia Buhari



Nollywood’s bad boy, Jim Iyke and
Ghanian sweetheart Nadia Buari were once in
an enviable relationship which was ruined by
some allegations against Jim.
Apparently Jim had told his then fiance that
he was going to Miami on business, but was
spotted in New York with his ex Keturah
Hamilton.

7. Funke Akindele and Kehinde Oloyede



Funke Akindele tied the knot with Kehinde
Oloyede in 2012 against all odds. Kehinde was
reputed to be a serial baby daddy, keeping a
string of affairs, and even returning to the
women he had prior to the celebrity wedding
with Funke Akindele.
