After lots of speculations and brainstorming pertaining to who runs the affairs of the National Assembly for the next four years, the minority Peoples Democratic Party has decided to play a very pivotal role towards determining who emerges as leaders of the eighth National Assembly that will be inaugurated today June 9, 2015.

During a recently held retreat in Port-Harcourt for her lawmakers-elect, the leadership of the opposition PDP pledged their unshakably loyalty towards casting their votes for whoever loses the primaries of the All Progressives Congress.

The National Working Committee of the APC, after conducting primaries for her National Assembly leadership contenders on Saturday, announced that Senator Ahmed Lawan will be the sole candidate of the party for the senate presidency and Femi Gbajabiamila as Speaker of the House of Representatives.

This move did not go down well with Senator Bukola Saraki who was defeated by Senator Lawan and Mr. Yakubu Dogara who was defeated by Femi Gbajabiamila. Both candidates, on Sunday June 7, 2015 vowed to run for the respective posts on Tuesday(today) alleging that the mock election conducted by the party was a sham.

The crisis rocking the All progressives Congress reached the pinnacle yesterday June 8, 2015 when both Senator Saraki and Mr Yakubu Dogara began moves in aligning themselves with the minority PDP lawmakers. The alliance was so successful that the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Olisa Metuh, announced early Tuesday morning (today) that both candidates will be supported by the its lawmakers.

As the lawmakers go out to vote, having taken into consideration that majority wins the day, we are confidently projecting that Senator Bukola Saraki of the All Progressives Congress will be elected as the Senate President of the Eighth National Assembly.

In likewise situation, we are also confidently projecting that Mr Yakubu Dogara will be elected as the House of Representative Speaker of the Eighth National Assembly.
