Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong revealed
that he only inherited N93 million but was
optimistic with prayers of spiritual fathers and
dialogue with labor the state will forged
ahead.
Lalong stated this when he receive the
Christian Association of Nigeria CAN at the
Presidential lodge in the Government House,
Rayfield.
In his speech, the Governor said the welfare
of the state civil service remains an unrivalled
aspect of the present administration and that
the desire of his administration is to settle
outstanding wages of workers but with the
over N104 Billion debt inherited by the
previous administration, the task has become
a Herculean one.
Leader of the delegation, CAN Chairman Rev.
Soldier Bewarang commended Governor
Lalong for reaching out to NLC in the state
and assured him of their support and fervent
prayers.
CAN praised Lalong for respecting the rule of
law by honoring the court ruling that returned
Daniel Dul as the elected Chairman of
Langtang local government area who was
recently sworn in.
Similarly Governor Lalong also met with the
leadership of Jama’atul Nasir Islam JNI, led
by its Chairman the Emir of Wase
Muhammadu Sambo Haruna, where he
solicited their support through prayers and
counsel to facilitate the success and progress
of the new administration.
Chairman JNI, Emir Sambo said Lalong’s
victory exhibits a free expression of wishes of
the citizens, JNI also advice the government
to embark on polices that will address the
various ills that is currently occurring in the
society such as uneven development,
marginalization, unemployment among youths
and economic backwardness. The organization
also stresses the need for a peaceful co-
existence between Christians and Muslims
communities in Plateau State.
