and clocked at 2.4 GHz core i-5 cpu goes brand new on the apple site for USD1,099 . . .
same for the latest version of the Macbook . . the latest of the latest that comes without internal fans and yet doesn't even heat . . . where apple finally displayed their witchcraft . . base model goes for USD 1,099 thereabout

so why would i buy a pre-2012 model for 180k , when i can add just about 20-30k and get a post-2013 model off eBay . . .

I posted a Macbook Pro non Retina for sale which is negotiable, I believe the asking price is not bad consdering the present dollar rate and I sincerely believe that a neatly used with no issues of the same model goes for less than $650 anywhere.

I just checked ebay the cheapest today for the same spec is $680 thats like 141k excluding shipping and clearing.

The spec of what I posted is slightly different for the same model.
Macbook pro 15" non retina comes with native resolution of 1440-by-900 Resolution but what I posted comes with resolution of 1680-by-1050 and the battery cycle is 230 which is very good. Stock HDD is 500gb, mine is 750gb. Excellent Class 'A' fully functional condition. Case shell is Best Class 'A' cosmetic classification with no cracks, no dents, some small scratch, and very clean. LCD screen is Best Class 'A' cosmetic classification with no visible scratch and high contrast.

I have equally used same Macbook Air, Macbook Pro non retina 15" and Macbook Pro Retina 15" 2012 and 2013 models (16gb ram, 512gb ssd).
1. You can't compare Macbook Air and Macbook Pros; they are not the same.
2. Macbook Pro non retina and Macbook Pro retina are also not the same.
3. Macbook Pro retina is not easily upgradable - you can't upgrade the RAM and even
regular SSD will not fit (Note 480gb OWC Mercury Electra SSD costs $220 and regular SSD of the same size costs about $170)
4. Macbook Pro non retina are still expensive because;
a. Apple stopped manufacturing the model in late 2012.
b. Ram is upgradable.
c. HDD is upgradable.
d. You can use two HDD on the same laptop if you wish.

There are other stuff you mentioned that are not true;
1. You can't get late 2012 Macbook non retina (MacBook Pro MD104LL/A 15-Inch Laptop} for 180k, please show me the link.
2. You can't also get post 2012 macbook Pro Retina 15 not 13 for 200/210k as mentioned.
Note also;
1. External 1TB ssd HDD , hope you know the price
2. Ram are also not cheap 16gb Ram (2x8gb) cost $100.

Lastly needs are different, some buy for gaming (Graphic guys) while some strictly for high demanding applications (Programmers/Networks Engineers). The former will look at the graphic card Ram while the latter will not.

The price of what I posted is not firm, besides i had expected you to post cheaper links for the model of the item i listed for sale.

I have friends that prefer the Macbook Retina and I know guys that like the old Macbook Pro non retina 17". You prefer the Retina and the newer model, that is your choice.
