With President Buhari - Impossible is nothing to him. If he wishes to make 1naira = 1dollar, he can do it. But come oooo, lets us tink of the advantages and disadvantages bfor changing it. 1 Like 1 Share |

Buhari never promised that and even if he did, it would be a stupid promise to make. It's better fo developing countries to keep their currencies weak especially when the country relies on exports to generate revenue. It helps to keep prices lower which results in more goods being sold. There is a reason why countries like China and South Korea keep their currency weak in comparison to the US. They both export more than they import while the US although it is a strong economy is riddled with debt. Most oil producing country are low so increasing ours to N1 = $1 would put us at a serious disadvantage. Making N1 = $1 will only make the Nigerian economy worse not better. What Nigeria needs to do is stabalize the Naira. Right now inflation is very high. This slows investment and growth which is not good for the economy. |

Buhari didn't promise to equate dollar to naira and he did, provide the evidence. |

humnsikan:Then you have a long way to go in comprehension. Vanguard used the headline to deceive gullible people like you as there was nowhere in the body of the news where PMB was quoted or even reported to have said it. He only laments the erosion of the value of naira adding that it was unacceptable. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Though I supported him in his campaign, his actions do not portray of a man who can make $1 = #1. Nigerians are in for an extremely slow and long ride. |

FOLYKAZE: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/ill-make-naira-equal-in-value-to-dollar-says-buhari/ I’ll make Naira equal in value to dollar, says Buhari on march 23, 2015 at 8:31 pm in news Facebook Share Twitter Share Owerri – The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday said he would ensure that the Naira was equal to the dollar in value, if voted into office. Buhari stated this during the South-East presidential rally of the party at Dan Anyima Stadium, Owerri. “It is sad that the value of the naira has dropped to more than N230 to one dollar; this does not speak well for the nation’s economy,’’ he said. He urged the people to vote for APC, noting that he would ensure that corruption was tackled headlong if elected. Earlier, Gov Rochas Okorocha had urged APC supporters to vote for the party’s candidates at all levels, noting that a vote for Buhari without support to others at the state would amount to nothing. Okorocha said Buhari would address the problem of electricity, bring back the kidnapped Chibok girls and promote industrial growth. He said that Buhari was loved by the people in the region and urged them to elect him and other APC candidates during the March 28 and April 11 general elections. Former governor of Anambra, Mr Chinwoke Mbadinuju and former Minister of Education, Chinwe Obaji, were formally welcomed to the APC at the rally. The rally was attended by APC supporters from Abia, Ebonyi, Anambra, Enugu and Imo. (NAN) |

lorddannie: Sensational topic that does not effect on the article. Where in the article did you read that Buhari said he will make N1 =$1? If you have your thinking cap on, you would notice that the topic attributed to the article does not correlate in any way. You choose to run wild after a topic that someone choose to sentionalize. Buhari didnt say he will make naira equal to a dollar |
