Young, intelligent, and incredible female Nigerian R&B
singer, STORMREX, is one fast rising act who is signed to
one of the craftiest labels (PENTHAUZE) here in Nigeria.
She is known for making exciting, and lovable songs, and is
gradually breaking grounds in this part of the country, and
beyond. She recently had a mail conversation with
MICHEAL IRABOR , of KINGGS BLOG , and shared some
things we never knew about her. Enjoy.

Tell us something we do not know about you.

My name is Ogbogu Yvonne Akuabata aka Stormrex. I'm a
graduate of Biochemistry , from the University of Science
and Technology Enugu. I'm from Ezeagu LGA Enugu State.
People don't know that I am a very shy person. So most
times they mistake it for pride & maybe arrogance.

What's your definition of good music?

Any song that passes on a message to the listeners, and
can make people happy each time they listen to it is a good
music.

How did your musical journey all begin?

I used to be in a group called Desperate chicks, we were 3
in number under Dekumzy's production. Back then. We
were the best female group in south east Nigeria but we
disbanded some years later. So, here I am, currently signed
under Penthauze.

What inspires your lyrics?

I am inspired by God, and also what I see around me. Some
local contents that are unique and probably weird as
regards the saying "if u can't convince them, confuse
them." lol

Tell us about your worst experience as an upcoming act.

My worst experience was meeting the wrong persons in the
industry, when I needed the right persons most. But thank
God for the journey so far.

What is music yet to do for you?

Music is yet to take me to my desired height. I am not yet
fulfilled as a gifted artiste but, I will surely get there soon.

What's your greatest fear?

My greatest fear is going out of the way God has designed
for me, all in the name of being commercial or trendy.

Most female artiste see being in a relationship as a
distraction to their careers. Do you share that same
perception, and are you presently in a relationship?

Only me can distract me. So I don't share that same
perception. As per whether I am in a relationship, I would
preferably keep that hidden.

What are you presently working on?

Presently, I am working on shooting a video for my new
song featuring Olamide 'walk with me', and also dropping
some new singles that I've been cooking.

What are your secret pleasures?

My secret pleasures are, listening to inspirational songs,
watching movies, and going for a swim.

If given a fortune, what would you spend it on?

If given a fortune,by Gods grace I would spend part of it
helping the needy because, I know how it feels to be in
need, and having no one to help.
