When the disgrace comes heavily, we deny that they are Nigerians or even have any inkling to us. Someone clearly identified the subject matter here to be his undergraduate colleague.

This isn't about claiming or rejecting corruption, it IS a shame to Nigeria. The frequency of citizens both home and abroad being involved in fraud is highly disappointing. Fraud is wrong and should be roundly condemned - there is no value in pointing to Madoff at this time.

The US does not have the reputation of being one of the most corrupt countries on the earth. I don't see what you are trying to justify here. Numerous people caught in this same type of fraud serves to reinforce a negative impression about Nigeria, so it is a shame to the country.

Thats just the problem.
Any small thing that Nigeria has to get right, we point to the US while the stark reality is that we are so far behind the US developmentally. Ghana and South Africa is there for starters, even Namibia and Botswana.
Lets not allow mediocrity or blissful ignorance that will boomerang damage us all.

If I am very right, you brought up cases not relevant to Nigeria with supporting links as well. You wanted to show that fraud is not inherent with Nigerians alone. I quite agree with you. However, we should begin to question ourselves, when people just suddenly in one day spring up with numerous inexplicable amount of money attributed to them, without any substantial evidence to show how they amassed such wealth.

My bringing the picture which was on the internet from his profile; which he (Tunde) made public to all, was that fraud and inexplicable amount of money obtained by youth in our days is worrisome. We may try to deny the propensity of it, but it is there and we should be ashamed about it.

There is nothing wrong with Nigerians. You may wanna ask : What is wrong with Nigerian men( especially Yoruba, Ijaw,Bini and igbo men) because 99.7% of these criminals are men from these ethnic groups. Nigerian women live abroad too but the only thing associated with them is diligence and hardwork while their male counterparts are largely known for cheating on their partners and committing fraud. Don't lump us together abeg.
