In what is consider a good move, wives to the ex-Governor of Bauchi State, Mal. Isa Yuguda, have started returning government vehicles in their possession. This came few days after a Committee for the Recovery of Government Property was constituted by the new Governor, M.A. Abubakar upon an advice given him by the State Transition Committee.

The Recovery Committee include Air Comdr A.T. Baba (Rtd) as Chairman with a representative each from EFCC, ICPC, Police, SSS, Ministry of Justice. Barr. Haruna Mohammed as Member/Secretary.

The Chairman of the Recovery Committee has already announced the return of the vehicles to journalists in Bauchi. Some are parked at the Government House while others are at the Bauchi State Liaison Office, Abuja, waiting to be conveyed to the state capital.

A total of 22 vehicles were returned by the three wives: 7 by Hajiya Nafisa Isa, 10 by Haj. Hauwa Biodun Isa and 5 by Haj. Aisha Isa.

It is expected that the many vehicles carted away by the ex-Governor will also be returned without the pressing measures of the Recovery Committee. Records have shown that he has not boarded them before leaving office.

Also, five of the eleven generators that were wrongly allocated to NGOs and individuals instead of Local Governments by the outgone administration have also been returned, though two of them diverted by the former Commissioner of Local Government Affairs that made the allocations have been found, on inspection, to be old and newly painted, as against the brand new ones that were allocated.

The Chairman of the Recovery Committee assured the public that his Committee will do everything possible to recover all assets that were wrongly taken away by political appointees of the last administration in the State.
