The National Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday released the Internally Generated Revenue profile of 23 states of the federation for the year 2014. According to the report, Lagos maintains its lead over other states, generating 47 per cent of what all the other 22 states collected as IGR in the same period. Here are 7 states with the highest internal generated revenue: Lagos - N276.1bn Rivers - N89.1bn Delta - N42.8bn Enugu - 19.2bn Ogun - N17.4bn Oyo - N16.3bn Akwa Ibom - N15.9bn 13 states - Abia, Adamawa, Borno, Cross River, Ebonyi, Edo, Gombe, Jigawa, Kano, Kwara, Ondo, Taraba and Yobe are yet to submit their report to the NBS. The IGR made by the states excludes the monthly allocations, which they receive from the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee. http://www.nigerianbulletin.com/threads/7-nigerian-states-with-the-highest-igr.113268/ Lalasticlala, Afam4eva, Ishilove 2 Likes 1 Share |

The report assumed none of the other 13 States could generate more than Akwa Ibom being the least among the top 7. Why can't they wait for other states so that we can have a comprehensive list of the IGRs of all States? Poor reportage 2 Likes |

Enugu State pride of the east. Imagine if the coal field and orji river hydro-thermal power plant are fully working. But wait ooo how can Enugu's IGR be more than Anambra and Abia even Imo that has a kind of oil and gas business. Maybe the 3 other states are hiding their earning. Wait again don't under rate Ebonyi too: the Nkalagu cement, Abakaliki quarry and lime stones, Abakaliki rice field and mills would compete with 042 ooo 8 Likes |

States like kano, abia and anambra should make the list but since kano and abia hasn't submitted, wait a minute, why is anambra not in the list? |

InyinyaAgbaOku: What more can I say SS $75B SW $79B SW without Lagos $46B SE $37B NC $30B NC + FCT $35B NW $44B NE $22B source: http://services.gov.ng/states source: http://www.naij.com/401470-see-the-10-poorest-states-in-nigeria.html The SW does well in both statistical data and is probably the region that is trying the hardest to reduce its dependence of oil. If the Yorubas contributed so little to SW GDP, why can't other tribes replicate the SW development in their own states? Why is it that 4 Yorubas are in the top ten richest Nigerian list when Yorubas only make up 21% of the population? 2 Likes |

What is the point of all the industries in Ogun and Oyo if small Enugu that is less than half the size of either of the two can generate more revenue than them. Oyo, Ogun, where are your tax payers money going to?! Why are they not being accounted for I'll just keep watching all these APC states in 4D. AkwaIbom own sef is an utter disgrace. Of course i'm also watching PDP in 3D but APC too like noise hence the 4D. 2 Likes |

totit: NBS said other states are yet to reveal their igr. So where are you getting your stats from? We are talking of sth more recent here. About dependence on oil, all 4 yorubas in the Forbes list made their money through oil subsidy. So what are you saying? 1 Like |

nerodenero: You are right. It prolly could be more buy then that is quite s lot of money being generated by a state. The way, manner and quality of projects it is spent upon is another issue entirely. Now imagine where unemployment is very low and the quality of life is significantly higher in all the states... This is equivalent to some companies profit before tax. |

InyinyaAgbaOku: Go through the link. As it stands? There you have it until....? And so what? Is it a crime to invest in oil. Must we all follow the same route? Tell me something else? |

totit:We are yet to see the recent results of the rest of our states and you are already making a regional analysis . Ekiti, anambra, abia, ondo, ebonyi stats are not there, so why are you making comparisons? in old stats, Enugu didn't rate high but with the right leadership, it's topping the states that used to surpass it. About Forbes list, where you not the one who FIRST said yorubas don't depend on oil? In the same list, igbos in the first 10 are not oil dependent In fact in the top 20, ifeanyi uba is the only Igbo with oil stuff, all the yorubas are. So, who is oil dependent? Lesson: Dont start what you can't finish |

Re: 7 Nigerian States With The Highest IGR by totit: 10:13am On Jun 18, 2015 |
InyinyaAgbaOku: Dependent on oil, yoruba as a race or individuals? Well, you have a point there but we can only focus on what we have at the moment?? Until it contradicts. When you used the word' dependent on oil'' I really can't fathom what you meant? Mind you oil or not those are rich people before they dive into oil. Adenuga etc. Now is it a crime to invest or have shares in oil and gas? 1 Like |

InyinyaAgbaOku:If you decide not to play in the oil sector, by preferring trading in goods from China, who bloody gives a hoot. Oil sector is for the big boys and not a no-brainer trading kind of biz. The bottom line is 4 out of the top 10 are from the land of oduduwa. Deal with it and get over it. 2 Likes |

totit: I see these are GDP figures. These are outdated GDP figures, they sum up to $292B while Nigeria's economy is around the $520B range. Kindly update your stats and use those to make your point, whatever it was. |
