A 22-year-old student has been remanded in prison custody on the order of Abuja Magistrate Court for stealing house properties and threatening to harm his mother.

Uchechi Ndubisi of Federal Housing Authority was remanded pending sentence after pleading guilty to theft and criminal intimidation offences leveled against him by the police.
The police said the offences contradicted Sections 288 and 397 of the Penal Code.
Police prosecutor Egwusigo told the court that one Mrs. Ebere Ndubisi, of same address, on May 28, complained at the Nigeria Police Area Command headquarters, of how the accused, her son, stole one Dell-laptop and three Philips pressing iron from the house to an unknown destination.
He said the accused, the following month, entered the complainant’s room and stole 20pieces of assorted wrappers, and three months later, stole one standing refrigerator and one compressor, as well as one window air conditioner and one 32” sharp television, all valued at N800,000.
According to the prosecutor, the accused stole all the items without the consent of the complainant and whenever he was questioned, he always threatened to harm her.
When the charges were read to the accused, he pleaded guilty but was remanded in prison custody by the Magistrate, Mohammed Kutigi, pending his sentence
